Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 6 | Laundry Room

I recently finished a mini makeover of my laundry room that I shared on the blog a few months ago.  In addition to adding a laundry counter and some shelving,  I also focused on getting all my cleaning supplies organized and minimizing what I keep in this area.  Since our laundry room doubles as our mudroom and is in a pretty visible area of our home, it was super important that all my laundry supplies not only be organized, but look semi attractive too.  I removed as much as I could from packages and transferred a lot of my cleaning products to glass jars.  This is such a simple solution but really makes all the difference when organizing not only your laundry room, but also your kitchem pantry, and even linen closet.  I've listed my top tips for getting started on organizing your laundry room as well as my favorite jars, crates, and organizers below!

Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 5 | Makeup, Beauty Products, + Vanity

The next area up on my home organization tour is my vanity where I store all my beauty products + makeup.  This is one of the most fun areas in my opinion to get organized, but also can be the most challenging for many women.  As always the key to tackling this space is purging.  I know I probably have a lot less makeup than most, but I also use everything I have, and if I don't like something or if something is empty or old, I toss it immediately.  If you have a lot more makeup/beauty products than I do, there are a ton of great organizing options linked below too with lots of drawers, dividers, and stackers that you can combine to contain your entire collection.  Also don't be afraid to think outside of the box when shopping for organizers.  I love to use vintage pieces like cake plates, mirror trays, milkglass vases, and/or glass jars to contain items, especially on top of your vanity.

Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Linen Closet

The next space up on my home organization challenge is the linen closet.  Whether you have one of these in your bathroom, hallway, or laundry room, this space becomes a catch-all for so many household necessities and it's so easy for it to get cluttered and out of control.  This is one space I had on my list to clean out and organize for quite some time now.  I still would like to add a few things, but it is already looking so much better.

Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 3 | Bathrooms

The next space up on our organized home challenge is bathrooms!  If you live in an older home like me, you are very familiar with the challenges of limited closet space and storage in bathrooms.  I've always lived in older houses, so I feel like I've mastered making the most of every inch of space for storage and am always on the lookout for creative storage solutions.  This post focuses on three different areas to focus on when organizing your bathroom: open shelving, bathroom cabinets, and the top of your vanity.  Let's start with open shelving!

Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 2 | Fridge

After a little break, it's time to resume our organizing challenge!  You can catch up on week 1 (kitchen cabinets) here.  This week we will be focusing on one of my favorite hobbies organizing the fridge!  Now I admit this is truly taking it to another level and may not be for everyone, but I promise it is not a difficult thing to keep up with!  I also think it has more benefits than just aesthetics, as you can keep better track of what you have in the fridge and (hopefully) be encouraged to make better choices when snacking and ultimately waste less food.  There are two major steps to getting started: 1. a deep clean on the entire fridge, and 2. the organizing phase.  I've also linked up all my favorite must-have products to get you started at the end of this post (crates, dividers, bins, etc.).  Let's get started- find all my tips + tricks below!
