DIY Inexpensive Large Built-In Wall Desk
I am so excited to finally be putting together a blog post about my giant built in desk in the office space! This is pretty affordable and easy to do, and is great for creating a large workspace with plenty of storage. I listed and linked the items I used, as well as the steps of how to put it together! I have loved have this workspace and have been using it constantly- it’s so comfortable and sits at the perfect height for crafting, art projects, or working on my computer. What I love about this project is that you can use the basic idea and materials I listed but really customize it to fit your own space/style! Whether you use different dressers, knobs, or a countertop- there’s so many ways to create this awesome built-in workspace on a budget! Let me know if you try this project and how you make it your own!
One Room Challenge: Playroom Makeover Week 4 Update: DIY Stenciled Wallpaper using Silhouette Cameo
Well I feel like I don’t have a ton of progress to share this week even though I actually HAVE made a ton of progress this week, it’s just all about halfway done and not very attractive for photos! We are kind of in the phase of the makeover where I have about 10 projects going at once and the room is a hot mess: paint cans everywhere, ladders, toys and regular decor thrown everywhere, walls stripped down and covered in painter’s tape. But despite the mess we are making a little more progress every day!
One Room Challenge: Playroom Makeover Week 3 Update: Lights + DIY Chalkboard
We made some good progress this week in the playroom: we have LIGHT, we completed the DIY house chalkboard, and we finalized the plans for built-ins and shelves. I’m loving the light and although I was concerned about it hanging down too low, it ended up being perfect for the space and isn’t in the way at all. But as with all old houses, when you fix one problem, you create more. Now we do have a few holes in the drywall from where our electrican had to cut in to run the electric (since this room had not ever had an overhead light. Hopefully we can fix those this weekend (we are going to try to patch it ourselves so I’ll let you know how that goes!).
One Room Challenge: Playroom Makeover - Week 2
Well the room doesn’t look a whole lot different YET but I feel like I still made a lot of progress this week! I have pretty much nailed down all the big design decisions and the layout of the room. Check out my IGTV video here for a behind the scenes look at the entire space and my plans for each wall/area. Below I’m sharing a design board I have put together with my selections so far and more details on each section!

One Room Challenge: Intro to My Project!
I am so very excited to participate in my very first One Room Challenge starting THIS week! I have always loved following along with this challenge and have found many of my favorite bloggers and designers through it. I really am kind of kicking myself that I hadn’t participated sooner, but the timing finally worked out perfectly so here we are!
This week there’s not a lot of progress to be shared but I wanted to reveal which room I am going to be working on AND some of my ideas and inspiration for the space. I can’t wait to hear your feedback and hope you are exctied to follow along with the transformation of this space! So the space I will be making over is (drumrollll)……..
Thrift Store Table Modern Makeover
I am continuing to work on my garage office makeover and a couple weeks ago I found the perfect round table for the space. I just happened upon this table at a thrift store and loved the unique base and shape, plus the size was just what I needed to float in the center of the room! The table cost $30 and I already had all the paint I needed to give it a quick makeover!
Entryway Refresh: Before + After
As you might have seen on my Instagram, I gave my entryway a little “refresh” right before Christmas! I wanted to modernize the space a bit on a budget and while it’s still a work in progress, I’m loving the updates so far! I was able to find the perfect entryway table at The Domestic in Lexington and gave it a makeover with some paint. I also used the magic light trick to add sconces to the wall on each side of this new round mirror which really gave the space a clean, modern look (find the full post about how to do that HERE!). As far as accessories and finishing touches, I feel like that may be something I continue to update seasonally. I’m still not sold on the bench at the end of the space, but it works for now.
Office Renovation Update
I’ve been updating this big “bonus room” space above our garage into an office/workspace for client meetings, creative projects, crafting, sewing, and more. You might have seen updates about this space when I shared about my DIY Marble-Looking Countertops and I’m so excited to share the progress that has been made since then. I still have a lot more projects in mind for this space but it has come so far from the nasty carpet and ceiling fan room seen in the “before” pictures below! I am finally able to work and enjoy this space and am having so much fun putting the finishing touches on everything. Check out more before and after pictures below!
