I feel like I say this every year, but this really IS my favorite porch yet! I usually do lots of pattern and color all over but this year I decided to do a lot of cream, white, and neutrals with just a few small colorful pops! I recovered all my patio cushions using drop cloth and I could not love the finished product more (I’ll be doing a separate blogpost with more details on this too!). A lot of the newer items I added were from Target’s Magnolia Hearth + Hand line and I love the slightly retro and classic feel of them. Shop my favorite pieces and new additions and check out more of my porch details below!Read More
We are SO excited to announce that there will be a movie filming later this week inside the Amsden. The Stand In, a new romantic comedy, starring DREW BARRYMORE is going to be filming scenes around Versailles and at Wrigley Media in Lexington. Barrymore’s character in the moving owns a furniture shop and the mercantile space will be her shop in the movie! I seriously can’t believe that my little shop is going to be on the big screen and that Drew Barrymore will be inside it in just a few days!
The crew will be filming all around Versailles for scenes of the movie including private homes, farms, and some other businesses. I believe that they will be shooting outside the Ferrick Mason showroom directly across the street from us for the exterior shop scenes and all the interior shop scenes will be inside the mercantile.Read More
There’s been a few spaces we haven’t even touched since moving in to our fixer upper. One of those spaces is this awesome bonus room space above our garage which was undoubtedly the nastiest room of the house when we first moved in. The space was filled with badly stained (and stinky) carpet, holes in the walls, broken windows, dust and overall dinginess. We didn’t really need the space for anything right away, so it just sat there and became storage for the first few years we have lived here.Read More

We welcomed our sweet John Woodford into the world on November 26th, 2019, exactly a week after his due date. Almost two months have simultaneously flown and crept by since then, but I am loving every second of watching this precious boy grow. John Woodford has slept in his nursery every night since the first night we came home, so this room is getting plenty of use. I wanted to finish it completely before he arrived, and since he took his time, I had plenty of extra days to work on it! There are still a few things I want to add here and there, especially now that I have a better idea of what we need practicality wise, but overall I love how it turned out. It’s the perfect mix of traditional southern, modern, and vintage with sentimental keepsakes throughout. I loved designing this space as it was just an empty, blank white room when I started a few months ago.Read More
Today I’m sharing my Christmas decor from my mudroom/laundry room this year. I have so much kitschy vintage Christmas decor I’ve collected over the years and this seemed like the perfect spot to display some of it. I love how the bright colors really pop against the black and white gingham wallpaper and black chalkboard wall. This space is really so cheerful and fun to walk into everyday and it makes doing laundry a little bit better too!Read More
Today I’m sharing the next space up on my holiday home tour, my entryway. This space is always one of my favorite to decorate because of all the unique nooks and crannies and character of this space. I love to go for a winter wonderland look in here with tons of flocked trees, garlands, and wreaths and lots of white and neutrals. This year I added this giant chalkboard on the back wall with some lyrics from one of my favorite Christmas movies, White Christmas, which seemed fitting for the space. I also love the extra light and glow that these Christmas lights add to this back corner, which is normally kind of dark and bland. I’ve linked all my favorite decor items from this space below that you can use to recreate this look!Read More
