Our Fixer Upper: Nursery Design Inspo
Now that we know the gender of baby Riddle, I'm ready to start designing and decorating the nursery ASAP! I've been working over the past month to get my former office cleared out which we will be using as the nursery since it's right next to our bedroom and super convenient from all parts of the house. We will be moving my office to the bonus room space over our garage, so it will be bigger and more spacious (with room for a little play area for the baby too)! The future nursery is one of those spaces of our house that I have done absolutely nothing to since moving in, so it's really a blank slate.
Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 6 | Laundry Room
I recently finished a mini makeover of my laundry room that I shared on the blog a few months ago. In addition to adding a laundry counter and some shelving, I also focused on getting all my cleaning supplies organized and minimizing what I keep in this area. Since our laundry room doubles as our mudroom and is in a pretty visible area of our home, it was super important that all my laundry supplies not only be organized, but look semi attractive too. I removed as much as I could from packages and transferred a lot of my cleaning products to glass jars. This is such a simple solution but really makes all the difference when organizing not only your laundry room, but also your kitchem pantry, and even linen closet. I've listed my top tips for getting started on organizing your laundry room as well as my favorite jars, crates, and organizers below!
5 Easy Ways to Update your Living Room for Spring
The time of year that is most challenging for me in decorating is definitely the January and February months. I've packed up all my holiday decor but it's still a little too early for full-blown spring colors and accessories. This year I was able to bridge the gap a little easier by incorporating some pale pastels and lots of layered neutral textures into my living room to bridge the gap between January and the beginning of spring. As spring as crept closer, I've continued updating and adding more spring touches and accessories throughout the space. I'm loving the feel of all the pale neutrals, layered textures, and pops of green- a little boho and a little farmhouse style overall. I also got a new coffee table which I'm loving as it totally has the perfect modern farmhouse look. Below I've listed a few easy eays to update your living room decor for spring while still keeping it super cozy! Take a look at how I gave my living room a little mini makeover to wake it up after the winter months!
Our Fixer Upper: Spring Kitchen Updates
It took me a little longer than usual this year, but I've finally gotten all my winter decor packed up and am slowly freshening up my home for spring. The kitchen is one of the first areas I've focused on because it's so easy to add a few spring touches in here. A few bowls of fresh citrus like lemons, limes, and oranges are perfect for adding a pop of color on your kitchen island or on your countertops. I also like to have lots of fresh flowers everywhere. You don't even have to do a full blown arrangement, as sometimes just a few simple stems in a large jar can be just as effective. Finally I also brightened up my table settings with this amazing macrame runner and some simple white plates.
Galentine's Day at The Amsden
We had TOO much fun at our first Galentine's party at the Amsden and I definitely think this will have to become a regular event! Thanks so much to all the fabulous boss babes who collaborated with us and participated in this event, making it extra special and fun! I love how our vendors are always willing to jump in and participate and interact with customers! They each are so uniquely talented and have the best personalities and I love that we all value community over competition as small business owners. Most of all thanks to all of YOU for coming out to the event, even on a gross and rainy day! We were blown away by the turnout and hope everyone had as much fun as we did! Check out some of our favorite shots of the event below including some photo booth snaps too!
How to Make the Coziest Bed
There are a few things I believe are super important to invest in as far as home decor, and bedding is definitely at the top of the list. When you sit back and think about it, this is something you use probably more than just about anything in your home! Not only that, but your sleep is also so important to your overall health- so it's so important to give yourself the most welcoming and comfortable environment for a good night's rest. Over the years, I've tried so many different pieces and methods for making up a cozy bed and I feel like I have finally perfected my technique! I've narrowed down 6 easy steps to making up the coziest bed for you below. I've also linked up my favorite tried and true bedding basics for you to shop!
Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 2 | Fridge
After a little break, it's time to resume our organizing challenge! You can catch up on week 1 (kitchen cabinets) here. This week we will be focusing on one of my favorite hobbies organizing the fridge! Now I admit this is truly taking it to another level and may not be for everyone, but I promise it is not a difficult thing to keep up with! I also think it has more benefits than just aesthetics, as you can keep better track of what you have in the fridge and (hopefully) be encouraged to make better choices when snacking and ultimately waste less food. There are two major steps to getting started: 1. a deep clean on the entire fridge, and 2. the organizing phase. I've also linked up all my favorite must-have products to get you started at the end of this post (crates, dividers, bins, etc.). Let's get started- find all my tips + tricks below!
Welcome to Gathered Living
When I first started Miss Molly Vintage, it was just a tiny booth space in Feather Your Nest that I shared with Street Scene Vintage. I chose the name after our family dog, Molly, who I got from my grandmother for Christmas when I was 7 years old. We had Molly for over 18 years and she was the best dog ever!
Since I took the leap and started focusing on Miss Molly Vintage full time a few years ago, I've continued to add to the brand: a blog, decorating services, and online shop. It has grown to be so much more than I could have ever imagined especially with the addition of The Amsden and my first true storefront at Gathered Mercantile.
When we started the Amsden project I knew it was the perfect opportunity to rebrand to a name that would better encompass all the different aspects of my business and blog. I chose the name Gathered Mercantile for my shop knowing that I would soon rebrand my personal brand to Gathered Living. Don't worry I'll still have all the same content, products, and style just with a new name! Welcome to the new face of Miss Molly Vintage, Gathered Living.
