Summer Porch 2018
Today I'm sharing my summer patio which I refreshed and redecorated just a little bit since last year. The biggest change out here was recovering the cushions on my furniture with this black and white striped fabric from Amazon. The cushions have springs on the inside and are flat on the bottom, so I was able to recover them easily with a staple gun, scissors, and no sewing. I shared a little more about my porch clean-up process and everything that I added/ changed here.
Summer Patio Refresh
I just completed my yearly patio cleanup and refresh for our side porch this past week. This year it seemed to be even dirtier and more full of leaves and debris than usual, so cleanup was not an easy task. In the process I updated my decor a bit because I like to add a few new things each year to make it feel new! This year I recovered my furniture cushions, added a new rug, as well as a few new pillows and accessories too. I still have a few more finishing touches to add but I wanted to go ahead and share my progress so far and some of my favorite patio pieces.
Bright + Cozy Loft Makeover
This past week I started wrapping up the final stages of a design project I've been working on for the past couple of months for one of my favorite clients. The install day of all the finishing touches and accessories is always my favorite because it always makes the space feel the most complete and cozy! This was my first time tackling a loft living space at the top of the stair like this and it was definitely challenging, but I love the (almost) finished product. The main challenge was trying to make such an open space feel cozy and comfortable, as well as figuring out the right way to arrange the furniture when you are basically missing an entire wall of the room!

I recently finished a mini makeover of my laundry room that I shared on the blog a few months ago. In addition to adding a laundry counter and some shelving, I also focused on getting all my cleaning supplies organized and minimizing what I keep in this area. Since our laundry room doubles as our mudroom and is in a pretty visible area of our home, it was super important that all my laundry supplies not only be organized, but look semi attractive too. I removed as much as I could from packages and transferred a lot of my cleaning products to glass jars. This is such a simple solution but really makes all the difference when organizing not only your laundry room, but also your kitchem pantry, and even linen closet. 5 Easy Ways to Update your Living Room for Spring
The time of year that is most challenging for me in decorating is definitely the January and February months. I've packed up all my holiday decor but it's still a little too early for full-blown spring colors and accessories. This year I was able to bridge the gap a little easier by incorporating some pale pastels and lots of layered neutral textures into my living room to bridge the gap between January and the beginning of spring. As spring as crept closer, I've continued updating and adding more spring touches and accessories throughout the space. I'm loving the feel of all the pale neutrals, layered textures, and pops of green- a little boho and a little farmhouse style overall. I also got a new coffee table which I'm loving as it totally has the perfect modern farmhouse look. Step by Step Plan for an Organized Home: Week 5 | Makeup, Beauty Products, + Vanity
The next area up on my home organization tour is my vanity where I store all my beauty products + makeup. This is one of the most fun areas in my opinion to get organized, but also can be the most challenging for many women. As always the key to tackling this space is purging. I know I probably have a lot less makeup than most, but I also use everything I have, and if I don't like something or if something is empty or old, I toss it immediately. If you have a lot more makeup/beauty products than I do, there are a ton of great organizing options linked below too with lots of drawers, dividers, and stackers that you can combine to contain your entire collection. Also don't be afraid to think outside of the box when shopping for organizers. I love to use vintage pieces like cake plates, mirror trays, milkglass vases, and/or glass jars to contain items, especially on top of your vanity.
