One Room Challenge 2021: Week 6- Upstairs Desk Nook + WALLPAPER Sneak Peek!
How is it already Week 6?! I feel like this year’s challenge is moving twice as fast as last years! This week I FINALLY feel like I’m making progress. It’s still going to be a sprint to the finish line but I’m finally getting somewhere and finally have some exciting peeks to show you (including WALLPAPER!). I will link all my sources for everything I’m sharing this week at the end of this post.
One Room Challenge 2021: Week 5- The Regroup Week, Vintage Rugs, Paint Colors, + More!
Welcome to week FIVE of the One Room Challenge. This week was the week of regrouping for me. I had to come to terms with the fact that everything I had planned for the space is just not going to happen in the 8 week timeline as I cannot get any contractors or subs scheduled with how busy everyone is. I want everything done right, and want to use people I trust, so I would rather wait than rush it. I have decided I will do two reveals instead! I will still do a reveal at the end of 8 weeks with a good deal of projects done- wallpaper, upstairs desk area, new dutch door, gallery wall/stair landing feature wall, light fixtures, and a partial (possibly entire) staircase runner.
One Room Challenge 2021: Week 4- Lighting + Upstairs Nook
This week I’ve been focused on the upstairs nook and trying not to panic that we are already HALFWAY through the challenge. I also ordered a wallpaper BUT that is going to be a surprise for you to see later! In the meantime, take a look at some of these fun light fixtures and ideas I have in mind for the upstairs area of the entryway. I have added sections for you to vote for your favorites of each below to help me decide!
One Room Challenge 2021: Week 3- Dutch Door, Wallpaper, + More Updates
{One Room Challenge Week 3 Update} Well this should be the week everything starts falling into place and I start rolling on this project. Unfortunately that is definitely not the case. None of my projects are going to plan so far and I can’t even get a quote for the renovation portion of my project from anyone. I’m feeling beyond frustrated and defeated this week, which I don’t let happen often. Here’s all the updates I have for this week:
One Room Challenge 2021: Week 2- The Great Wallpaper Debate
This past week I’ve been mostly focused on narrowing down selections for the space and meeting with more contractors about the renovation side of the project. I wanted to share the wallpapers I’m debating against, and just to warn you, there’s A LOT. I kept trying to narrow it down but then I would find more options! I shared a little on Instagram but a lot of you asked for sources so I figured this would be the easiest place to share since they’re all from different places! As you can tell, I’m leaning towards a more floral style print which I obviously love in all aspects of my life- clothing, decor. accessories, etc.
One Room Challenge 2021: Week 1- Project Intro + Plans!
For this year’s One Room Challenge I will be making over MY ENTRYWAY! I ultimately decided on this space because it has so much potential and I had a lot of fun projects in mind for it that I thought would be perfect to showcase in this challenge. It’s not a space we use much right now or that I have enjoyed looking at lately, BUT I’m excited to make it brighter, cozier, and hopefully more open (more on that below)!
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Entryway
Next up on my 2020 Holiday Home Tour is our entryway! If you’ve followed along for a while, you may have heard me rave about The Domestic, one of my favorite local vintage shops. This season, I found this tufted vintage bench that fits my entryway perfectly. I love the pop of color it adds to the space. For the rest of the decor, I stuck with a pretty neutral color scheme, with some cozy, cabin vibes. Make sure you check out the battery powered twinkle lights I’ve linked below. They are a lifesaver in older homes like mine with minimal outlets!
Entryway Refresh: Before + After
As you might have seen on my Instagram, I gave my entryway a little “refresh” right before Christmas! I wanted to modernize the space a bit on a budget and while it’s still a work in progress, I’m loving the updates so far! I was able to find the perfect entryway table at The Domestic in Lexington and gave it a makeover with some paint. I also used the magic light trick to add sconces to the wall on each side of this new round mirror which really gave the space a clean, modern look (find the full post about how to do that HERE!). As far as accessories and finishing touches, I feel like that may be something I continue to update seasonally. I’m still not sold on the bench at the end of the space, but it works for now.
