Summer Porch Refresh with Joss + Main
Every year I love to give our side porch decor a little refresh for the season including a good deep clean and something new- whether it’s new pillows, a new rug, or just new planters! This year I did a little more than usual, as I had kept things very similar the past few years and was ready for something new! Thanks to Joss + Main, my porch is now refreshed and ready to go for the rest of the summer and beyond! Our Experience with Fox Pest Control
As many of you all know, living and renovating historic homes comes with a unique set of challenges. One of ours has always been mice and pest control. Older homes often have lots of little nooks, crannies, and holes that are not easily identifiable and make perfect little entrances for pests of all kinds! Our home is on a very small basement/crawl space and also has an attic, which adds to these challenges. A few years after moving in, we started to notice mice droppings in several areas of our home. Since we free feed our dogs and often leave dog food out throughout the day, this was only adding to the attraction for the mice, but was also something we couldn’t really change or avoid. We have tried for years to get a grip on the mice issue, but even when we would catch a few and clean everything up, they always seemed to find their way back in again after a few months.

3 Summer Centerpieces for your Outdoor Entertaining
Today I’ve teamed up with Gordmans to put together 3 different summer centerpieces perfect for all your outdoor entertaining! I love to entertain outside during the summer and one of the keys to a beautiful spread is a pretty centerpiece- whether it be on you dining table or serving table. All 3 of these centerpieces are super quick and easy to put together and every single item I’m using came from my Lexington Gordmans store! Even better, the total of all the items together was less than $150 and these are all items you can use again and again both in your indoor and outdoor decor. All three styles are fun and summery but each slightly different: a preppy and colorful ginger jar arrangement, a simple, neutral boho arrangement, and a natural, beachy arrangement.
How to Style a 4th of July Beverage Station + 3 Easy Summer Drink Recipes
One of my favorite ways to entertain outdoors is to set up different food and beverage stations for guest to enjoy. Putting together a big bar cart or beverage table away from the food set-up gives your guests plenty of drink options and the ability to customize their own drinks, while also freeing up space for food on your counter-tops or buffet! I love having designated areas for food, drink, and desserts when entertaining as it helps spread guests out and gives them somewhat of an activity to do as they go from station to station.
The Keeneland Paddock Dinner Series
I can't think of a better way to kick off summer than a dinner under the stars in the Keeneland Paddock! Thanks to Keeneland's new Paddock Dinner Series, you too can experience one of these intimate, family-style dinners right smack dab in the center of beautiful Keeneland. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best meals I have ever eaten in Lexington, and each course was better than the last. The decor and ambiance was also just perfect with live music, delicious appetizers and drinks being passed, colorful tablesettings, and twinkle lights strung across the Paddock.
Creative Collective Mentor + Mix
We had the most magical evening at our Creative Collective mentor + mix event sharing all about "Business Basics." The Barn at Springhouse was the perfect venue for this event and I love how we were able to set up the small group sessions around palette tables throughout the barn and beautiful surrounding grounds. We had a lot of returning attendees from our first event and some new faces as well! Huge thanks to the venue and vendors, The Barn at Springhouse, Amendment 21 Event Bartending, Zachary Brady Designs, Kara Shepherd, Joe Dean Hinkle, and Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream!
