One Room Challenge 2021: Week 1- Project Intro + Plans!
For this year’s One Room Challenge I will be making over MY ENTRYWAY! I ultimately decided on this space because it has so much potential and I had a lot of fun projects in mind for it that I thought would be perfect to showcase in this challenge. It’s not a space we use much right now or that I have enjoyed looking at lately, BUT I’m excited to make it brighter, cozier, and hopefully more open (more on that below)!
The Best Outdoor Rugs of the Season
With summer fast approaching, a round up of the best outdoor rugs is here! A rug is such a simple way to add depth, texture and style to your backyard oasis! I’ve put together a list of some of the best rugs this season. There is something for everyone, as I’ve included all sorts of styles and colors and price ranges! Find all my favorite picks below and click on any photo to see more details + shop!
Cozy Bohemian Midcentury Living Room Project
Today I’m sharing this cozy midcentury boho living room that is one of my favorite designs I’ve done so far this year! I love all the muted, but fun colors in here, tons of texture, and mix of woods, metals, and fabrics. The mounted shelf is such a fun addition to this room and so perfect for filling a random, empty nook, and the styling options are endless (AND it’s super affordable)! We also added some personal touches throughout the space- for example, most of the artwork in the gallery wall was photography done by my client’s husband! Take a look at more photos of this space below and shop everything I used as well! If you have questions about anything not mentioned, feel free to ask in the comments below!
Beautiful Home Organizing Challenge: How to Organize Your Children's Clothes
The next space up on our organizing challenge is kid’s clothing storage. Somehow I’ve never made a good system with how I organize and store JW’s clothes, so this was something I was really excited to get started. I have linked everything that I used at the end of this post for you to shop as well!
The Ultimate Kentucky Derby Cheeseboard!
I can’t believe I have never thought to make a Kentucky Derby Cheeseboard before, but it’s going to be hard to top! Being born and raised in Kentucky, I wanted to put together a board that showcases all things bluegrass, southern, and delicious! There is no where better to live and eat than Kentucky, and if you don’t believe that, just try this board! This board has it all from hot brown dip to mint julep salsa, bourbon balls to country ham biscuits, benedictine to mini derby pies, and more! I also included lots of different veggies, crackers, and bread options for tons of different dipping and snacking combinations! As always you can totally customize this board, and any of my boards, to fit your guest list and budget and all suggested ingredients can be edited and swapped out easily!
Beautiful Home Organizing Challenge: How to Organize Your Bathroom
If you live in an older home like us, you are probably very limited on bathroom storage. A good way to combat the lack of space is by utilizing what you do have! The key is organization and making sure each item has a home and thinking of strategic ways to hide unsightly items. By using baskets under your vanity for towels, incorporating some open shelving, and maximizing vanity space, you can really make your bathrooms both functional and beautiful without having a ton of large storage spaces!
Easy Baked Hot Brown Dip
Hot Browns are a staple for any derby party or dinner, but so difficult to make and keep fresh when you have a lot of guests! This hot brown dip is the perfect way to enjoy the flavors of this classic Kentucky staple without all the work! You can serve this cold, or baked (like below- highly recommend), and it’s delicious with any kind of toasted bread, pretzels, crackers, veggies, or chips! Find all the ingredients and instructions below!
Storage Carts for Your Bathroom
Let’s talk about storage carts! these little wonders are the perfect, affordable way to add a ton of extra storage without taking up a lot of square footage! I love using them in offices, closets, laundry rooms, kitchens, and of course, bathrooms! I recently added this little 3 tier cart to our guest bath and it’s a game changer for organizing all my bath/beauty products and John Woodford’s bath toys! I added a basket to the bottom shelf to hide bath toys and used various trays and organizers on the top two shelves for other soaps, bath, and beauty products. I can even roll it around the space as I need it- by the sink or by the tub!
