Fun + Spooky Kid's Halloween Snack Board

These kid’s snack boards are always my favorites to put together and John Woodford was thrilled because it has all his favorite things! PB+J spiders, hot dog mummies, clementine pumpkins, spider web guacamole, ghost bananas, mini English muffin mummy pizzas, and more! Really any of these individually would be super fun for kid’s lunches or dinners too and they’re all super easy! Feel free to mix, match, and customize it to your liking. You definitely don’t have to include every ingredient and there’s lots of different ways make this your own! Find all the ingredients and instructions for assembling this one below!

all ingredient amounts are easily adjustable depending on how many of each you want to make/include

for the PBJ spiders:

soft bread of your choice (I used whole wheat)

peanut butter or nut butter of your choice

jam/jelly of your choice

mini pretzel rods

candy eyeballs (buy the multi-size big pack I used here; I used this one pack for the entire board and had lots left)

for the spider web guacamole + chips:

Trader Joe’s ghost and bat chips or ghost and bat veggie chips

8-12 oz guacamole

1/4 cup sour cream

splash of milk

2-3 black olives

for the mini mummy pizzas:

English muffins

pizza sauce

mozzarella or pizza cheese

black olives

for the mummy hot dogs:

hot dogs

crescent rolls

mustard or ketchup

candy eyeballs (buy the multi-size big pack I used here; I used this one pack for the entire board and had lots left)

for the ghost bananas:

bananas

chocolate chips of your choice

for the ghost cheese sticks:

mozzarella or swiss string cheese sticks

black sharpie

for the orange pumpkins:

clementines/cuties

1-2 pieces celery

eyeball ants on a log:

celery sticks

peanut butter

candy eyeballs (buy the multi-size big pack I used here; I used this one pack for the entire board and had lots left)

spooky apple mouths:

1 green apple

peanut butter

mini marshmallows

brie cut out:

8 oz brie wheel

jam/preserves of your choice

Halloween cookie cutter of your choice (I used a pumpkin)

other items:

yogurt covered pretzels

candy corn

gummy worms

baby carrots (I added some candy eyeballs on these too)

black seedless grapes

for the PBJ spiders:

  1. Spread a piece of bread with peanut butter, then jelly, then sandwich with a second piece of bread (I made 4 total).

  2. Use a small round cookie cutter or knife to cut 1-2 circles out of each sandwich.

  3. Insert 4 pretzel rods into each side of the round cutout in between the bread (I broke mine a little so they were a little shorter).

  4. Add the candy eyeballs on the top center using a dab of peanut butter to hold.

for the spider web guacamole + chips:

  1. I used a small squeeze bottle and added a small bit of sour cream and a splash of milk to thin it out a bit. You could also use a freezer/plastic bag and poke a hole in it to dispense.

  2. Empty your guacamole into a small bowl.

  3. Carefully squeeze the sour cream mixture along the top creating a spider web pattern.

  4. To make the olive spider- cut one olive in half, and place one half on top of the guacamole for the body. Then cut another olive into thin slivers and place 4 on each side of the body for the spider legs.

for the mini mummy pizzas:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375.

  2. Cut each english muffin in half (I did 4).

  3. Spread each half with a thin layer of pizza sauce.

  4. Add the shredded mozzarella next, focusing it on the bottom half to give it the “mummy” look.

  5. Cut an olive in half, and place two halves on the top half of the english muffin (on the sauce) for eyes.

for the mummy hot dogs:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Cut your hot dogs in half either way (lengthwise or widthwise- or a mix), then cook on medium heat in a frying pan until slightly browned on each side.

  3. Wrap each cooked hotdog with a thin string of crescent roll dough, leaving some space in between so the hot dog can be seen.

  4. Cook at 375 for a few minutes until the crescent dough is golden brown.

  5. Remove from the oven and add the candy eyeballs to the top of the hotdog using a dab of mustard.

for the ghost bananas:

  1. Peel each banana and cut in half (lengthwise or widthwise, whatever you prefer- or a mix!). I used 4 bananas for a total of 8 “ghosts.”

  2. Carefully insert 2 chocolate chips toward the top of the banana for the eyes.

for the ghost cheese sticks:

  1. Keep each string cheese wrapped and use a sharpie to draw your ghost face on the top- it’s easy, just two eyes and a mouth- all ovals!

for the orange pumpkins:

  1. Carefully peel the clementines (I did about 10).

  2. Cut a piece of celery in half lengthwise (you may need to do this a couple times depending on how thick it is). Chop into small segments to use as the pumpkin “stems”.

  3. Carefully insert into the top center of the peeled clementine.

eyeball ants on a log:

  1. Spread a small piece of celery with peanut butter.

  2. Carefully placed 3-4 candy eyeballs across the peanut butter.

spooky apple mouths:

  1. Carefully slice an apple into large wedges leaving the peel on the outside,

  2. Spread each wedge with a thin line of peanut butter.

  3. On half the wedges, carefully places 4-5 marshmallow “teeth” across the apple wedge.

  4. Press down another apple wedge (without marshmallows) peanut butter side down, to secure the marshmallows in between.

brie cut out:

  1. Unwrap your brie wedge.

  2. Carefully insert your cookie cutter about 1/4 to 1/2 down into the brie.

  3. Remove the cookie cutter carefully peeling away the top layer of brie/rind.

  4. Scoop out any remaining rind with a knife or spoon.

  5. Fill in the cutout that is left with preserves/jam of your choice.

Arranging:

  1. Place your largest items first: I did the brie and the guacamole bowl because they were both round and similar sizes. I placed these both towards the middle on opposite sides with plenty of space in between.

  2. Next I added the mummy pizzas, hot dogs, and mini sandwiches- placing them on opposite sides of the board too, evenly spaced from one another.

  3. I added the orange and green pieces next: clementine pumpkins, candy corn, baby carrots, celery items- again evenly spacing them throughout the board to disperse the color throughout.

  4. Finally I filled in any holes with the chips, yogurt pretzels, gummy worms, and grapes.

  5. You may want to add a little spoon/spreader for the guacamole and the brie too!

  6. Share + enjoy!
