Holiday Mantle Decorating

I wanted to share another holiday design project I just finished up today.  I was thrilled to get to decorate this mantle in a beautiful home in the Beaumont neighborhood of Lexington.  The owner told me she used lots of pinecones, berries, and natural elements to decorate her tree in this room, which she sets up right next to the fireplace.  She wanted to start from scratch with the mantle and do something totally different this year that would still fit in with her tree decor.

We were working with a budget of $100 to shop for items for this mantle and we came in just under that total.  I also kept a few items that she had already on the mantle like the jars, and candlesticks, which I purchased new candles (from Homegoods) for that felt more "holiday" themed.  For the garland on the mantle, I mixed a fresh pine garland from Trader Joe's with a pinecone garland from Michael's and some LED twinkle lights (from Target).  The twinkle lights from Target were perfect because they also had little pinecones and red stars mixed in with them.  The wreath, mini Christmas trees, silver bottle brush trees, and gold metal reindeer were all thrifting finds and the grand total for all of those items was under $40!  The wooden "Noel" sign also came from Michael's, while the small pinecone arrangements in silver pots came from Homegoods.   The look is simple + classic and the great thing is that most of these decorations are not so obviously Christmas, so they could also stay up throughout the winter months too!
