Vintage + Industrial Masculine Office Design

This recent vintage industrial office space was right up my alley! We started with a completely empty room minus the drafting table desk and transformed this spare bedroom into the coolest vintage, industrial office space! Full of vintage and antique items, custom shelving, lots of metals and woods, and pops of color- this is such a unique space with so much character!

The Best Budget-Friendly Neutral Rugs

Rugs are a perfect way to cozy up a room, add some touches of color or pattern, and tie the space together. However, rugs can be expensive and usually are one of the hardest elements to narrow down just the right look for your space. Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorite neutral rugs that are all under $300 and come in sizes at least 5’x7’ or larger!

Modern Eclectic Bungalow Bathroom Renovation: Before + After

Today I’m excited to share this modern, eclectic bathroom renovation I designed and completed for a client. The impact we were able to make on this relatively small space is pretty incredible. We had to basically reconfigure the entire space due to the location of the toilet being permanent and the client wanting a walk in shower instead of tub. Due to the slanted ceilings (this home is a bungalow so this upstairs has kind of an attic space feel), we had to get creative with the layout! We ended up using the slanted ceiling as part of the shower and putting the shower on the right side of the bathroom as soon as you walk in. We made the sink the first thing you see straight ahead from the door and then were also able to add a little storage nook in the corner too!

Little Boy's Classic Americana Nautical Bedroom

If you’ve been following along with my design projects over the past year, you may remember this sweet little girl’s room update with gingham bedding and floral wallpaper. Next up, it was her brother’s turn for a little room revamp! We updated this little boy’s bedroom with some wallpaper, sconces, and a few pieces of wall decor to pull everything together and give it a little more of a grown-up feel that he will be able to continue to grow into! I love how the "faux shiplap” wallpaper turned out and you really would never know it’s not real until you get super close! Instead of lamps, we added these brass sconces which go perfectly with the nautical theme of the bedroom.

Minimal Spa-Like Master Bedroom Makeover

Here’s a sneak peek of a project I am currently finishing up. This super minimal and chic master bedroom makeover is giving me all the spa-like vibes! This client knew exactly what she wanted, which made my job super easy. I have never done such a simple, minimal design before but I really loved the process. One of the biggest challenges for the space was choosing the right white paint color that would coordinate with the existing trim color which was a little darker beige. Before all the walls in this house were a very pale yellow (very 90’s- check out the before photos below) and we are slowly changing them room by room. Keeping the trim color as-is is a huge money saver in the long run, especially since the actual paint was still in good condition.

Easy Shelf Styling Basics + Printable Guide

Whether it’s a built-in piece, bookcase, or shelves framing a fireplace, shelf styling can set the tone for a room, but can also be challenging! Today on the blog, I break down shelf styling into a few easy steps that you can implement in your space.

When styling, focus on balance, layering, and variation. The shelf needs to appear visually balanced and “equal” on each point of the center line. Also make sure you’re laying pieces in front and behind each other while incorporating elements of different heights and sizes.
