I am SO excited to be heading back to Disney in only a couple of weeks! I am definitely looking forward to some warmer temperatures (compared to Kentucky!), but I’m planning to pack a few long sleeve/sweatshirts, too! I collected some of the special buys I picked up for our Disney trip and linked them all below! One of the many highlights of 2022 was when my family went to Disney! We left the day after Halloween, and it was truly MAGICAL! I wanted to take some time to share all my favorite Disney outfits, my own and my family's, with you!
Our Favorite Halloween Children's Books + Our Vintage Halloween Children's Book Collection
I have always been obsessed with children’s books, and started collecting even before I was pregnant. My back up job choice was always to be a children’s librarian and over the years I’ve created our own little at-home library filled with vintage and new books of all kinds. I especially like collecting holiday themed books and have gotten quite a few Christmas and Halloween. This year I was thrilled ot be able to display them all on our new playroom book wall! Our Fixer Upper: Playroom Makeover Progress
Another project we have been working on lately at home is transforming this extra room on our main floor into a playroom for JW! It’s still a work in progress but SO much better than before- scroll down to see some scary before photos . This is one of the only rooms we didn’t touch AT ALL during our renovation (not even paint) because we really didn’t have a use for it at the time. It makes a perfect playroom because it’s on our main floor right off the entry and living room but still completely separated and able to be hidden when messy (which is always). I have a lot of fun projects in mind to make it even better but just wanted to share the progress so far.
John Woodford's One Happy Camper Birthday
I can’t believe how fast time is going - JW celebrated his first birthday back in November! I had so much fun planning it and celebrating with friends, but wanted to give you a behind the scenes look at some details.
I decided to go with a “ONE Happy Camper” theme for the party because I just saw so many fun possibilities for the food and decor. By using woodland animal decor, buffalo plaid accents, and a make your own trail-mix favor bar, it was the perfect theme for a little boy’s birthday - especially in the fall or winter months. I made the most of evergreen trees and holiday decor I already had to tie into the theme as well as fun snacks like smore’s on a stick, custom woodland cookies, and a homemade “pinecone” cheese ball (more details on food + recipes linked below)!

It’s truly amazing how quickly babies grow out of things and I constantly feel like I need to be buying something new to keep up! Amazon is a god-send for parents because we can quickly and easily order what we need, right when we think of it, and have it delivered right to our door. I’m so excited to share with you a sneak peek at Gathered Living Baby + Child! I have been working hard to get this first collection together which will include the cutest little baby clothes for spring and summer, both new and vintage! Most importantly, a portion of every single sale will be donated to a local organization that helps provide pregnancy and labor support and postpartum care to single mothers and mothers in need. This is something that has been on my heart since giving birth to JW, and I hope we will be able to help many moms and families!
Our Easy Baby Bedtime Routine
The first question everyone asks when you have a new baby is “Are you getting any sleep?” As first time parents, we really have no idea what we are doing most of the time, but I did know I wanted to have a some kind of plan when it came to a night time routine for sleeping. Well I did not take a single baby class and I didn’t read hardly any books, so I was off to a great start. The three books/programs that I did read and follow a bit were “Moms on Call”, Babywise, and Taking Cara Babies (on Instagram) and I think the routine we ended up with was kind of a combination of parts from all those programs.
