Thank you so much to everyone who came out and attended our first spring pop up market this past weekend at the Amsden! We were blessed with a sunny and beautiful spring day and were lucky to be joined by some amazing local vendors. As always, I loved looking through all our customer's photos from their visit and think that they paint a perfect picture of the event as a whole. I've rounded up my favorites and included them below! As always be sure to hashtag your photos #theamsden when you visit for a chance to be featured!Read More
Not many things make my heart happier than scrolling through our tagged photos from The Amsden and seeing the photos all of y'all share from your visits. The fact that people want to share their finds, visits, and snapshots from this little place we have created still blows my mind. I am humbled and amazed by how many of you continue to make the trip to Versailles just to visit us and how busy we continue to be each week. We really thought it would take a lot more than this initial step to make Versailles the destination spot we were imagining, but you all continue to prove us wrong! Keep sharing your photos with #TheAmsden and I will continue to feature my favorites! Also don't forget to share your Gathered Mercantile finds and show us how you style them using the same hashtag too!

Notice anything different?! What a difference some new windows and a little paint can make! I decided to take a chance and go with a super dark charcoal trim paint for the exterior of the Amsden (the complete opposite of what it was before) and it turned out even better than I imagined! I think it completely changes the look of the building and adds a bit of a modern touch. I also love how it brings out the stained glass and the unique architectural details like the stonework.
Inside the building we're also making tons of progress. My beautiful tile floors are finally down in the coffee shop and the counter is so close to being complete as well. The cabinets and counter are just primed for now but will be painted the same light grey color as the window trim. You can also see the cardboard which is protecting the new zinc countertops on all the prep counters. The top counter will be white and grey marble and should be installed this week. Industrial lights have also been installed throughout the space.
Also......NEW DOORS! These were all custom made to replicate the original doors that were on the building. They are so beautiful and definitely a major upgrade from that nasty commercial door that was there before. That empty space in the tile right inside the entrance is a little surprise that I'll be sharing with you later this week!
You can see the little flip-up divider that we added to the coffee counter above. The menu board will be on that large white wall to the right of the counter and the back brick wall will be open shelving. I also have something special in mind for the top of that wall above the shelving.
I mean THIS TILE! I just can't stop staring at it. Everyone keeps asking me where it is from and cannot believe when I tell them it's from Home Depot. But it's true and they have so many amazing printed tile options online. I fell in love with this one because of all the variations and how it truly looks antique.
One more shot of the coffee counter area where you can see the windows and back of the bar a little better. I just ordered some simple brass cabinet pulls for the cabinets behind the counter. Below you can see a better shot of how the new front door looks from the exterior of the building. Don't they make such a difference? I cannot believe we're just a few weeks away from opening! We'll be working non-stop until then but I'm so excited for you to see the finished product.
I'm super excited to welcome a few more vendors to our Gathered Mercantile lineup! I've worked closely with all of these vendors before and I just love all of the brands the have created. Kayla Weber is the most talented local artist who does gorgeous abstracts, equestrian paintings, and custom painted globes! She also does a lot of custom work and uses the most dreamy color combinations in all her pieces! Blush Box Co. is a local sister-owned boutique that curates the best collection of beautiful and feminine clothing and accessories! I love everything that they choose and am excited about having more clothing to add to the shop. Gent's Original is a locally owned line of cocktail syrups and sodas perfect for stocking your Kentucky bar cart! These make great gifts or stocking stuffers and they're all made with 100% raw all natural ingredients. Take a look at the new additions below and click on any of their photos for more information!
