Clean + Simple Modern Farmhouse Office Design Project

One of my favorite installs from this summer and a follower favorite as well was this modern farmhouse office project! We started with a pretty empty space but in a day transformed it into a bright + cozy office space that is much more functional and welcoming. We mostly stuck to neutrals in the room but I wanted to add warmth with lots of textures and different materials. There are lots of wood tones throughout, as well as pops of dark metal, and then we pulled in some cozy texture and pattern with the pillows, throw, curtains, and rug. I call this modern farmhouse, but overall I think the look is clean, simple, and very timeless. Take a look at what this space looked like before we started below!

We started with just a few large furniture pieces: the couch, rug, and chair. The built-in shelves and walls were pretty barren and we knew that would be a main focus point for pulling the room together. The client also wanted to add a desk and a new center light fixture. Below you can see what the space looked like when we started:

The biggest change in the room was adding this statement light fixture from World Market and the desk (also from World Market). We decided to angle the desk to best fit the space and keep the walkways/flow open as well as allowing easy access to the built-in shelving. Overall though, the biggest impact was accessories. From the wall decor, shelf decor, to the pillows, curtains, and plants, all those items really pulled the space together and made it feel functional and purposeful as well as cozy and welcoming! Overall I love how the space pulled together and think this family will be able to enjoy it for years to come. You can find all the items details, shopping links, and a budget breakdown at the end of this post! If you have any questions about anything not mentioned, just ask!
