Holiday Home Tour 2020: Playroom
Welcome to the most fun room of the house- our Christmas playroom! I have had so much fun decorating this space for holidays and can’t wait to continue to in the future. I got a pastel pink tree for the room and even did a little DIY makeover on an old Christmas village set too for the mantle! I love filling up our book wall with all our Christmas children’s books as well as the music corner with our vintage Christmas albums!
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Nursery
John Woodford’s room might be my favorite because it gets the most extra special Christmas decor! Most of the ornaments on his tree are from my childhood and collected since (Disney, hallmark, vintage, etc.); all the stuffed animals in his teepee were mine when I was little; that little wreath on the teepee hung on the door in my parent’s first townhouse where I was born; and most of the books were mine too including his current fave “Christmas Mice” by Richard Scarry (which coincidentally was one of my favorites too).
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Front Porch
There’s nothing better than a front porch full of Christmas trees and twinkle lights! This year I added alllll the trees to make for the coziest porch situation ever. Another favorite addition is this gingerbread doormat that I layered on top of a vintage rug. I used a lot of the same planters from fall but set my small christmas trees inside! Shop the look and some of my favorite pieces linked below!
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Master Bedroom
Christmas time means my master bedroom is at its peak coziness level! I’ve been slowly chipping away at refreshing this space. So far, I’ve added new bedding and nightstands, and I’m excited to jump into more updates in the future. For this holiday season, I jumped on the chance to do double trees in another room, with a pencil tree on either side of the bed. I love the size of these trees- you can add one to just about any space for instant coziness. I kept the tree decor pretty minimal with some wood bead garlands, and added warm tones to the bedding for subtle holiday touches. I spruced up my antlers and bed frame with greenery to complete the look.
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Kitchen and Dining Room
Next up on my Holiday Home Tour is our kitchen and dining room. There are SO many things I love about how this room turned out. The little black ribbon on the wreath about the fireplace was the inspiration that sparked the design for this room. I tucked real magnolia stems throughout both trees, and then tied on lots of different velvet ribbons in rich dark colors. Adding touches of real greenery to faux trees is one of my favorite design tricks! It helps fill out the trees and gives a richer, layered look.
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Entryway
Next up on my 2020 Holiday Home Tour is our entryway! If you’ve followed along for a while, you may have heard me rave about The Domestic, one of my favorite local vintage shops. This season, I found this tufted vintage bench that fits my entryway perfectly. I love the pop of color it adds to the space. For the rest of the decor, I stuck with a pretty neutral color scheme, with some cozy, cabin vibes. Make sure you check out the battery powered twinkle lights I’ve linked below. They are a lifesaver in older homes like mine with minimal outlets!
Holiday Home Tour 2020: Living Room
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’m excited to start my Holiday 2020 Home Tour with our living room. Last year I kept this room pretty neutral, but I decided to add in some more gold and blush tones this year. I’ve also been loving the full, layered look for the mantle this year which I did by layering several different garlands for a more dramatic look! Shop all the links below and if you have questions about anything else- just ask!
Bright + Fun Vintage Halloween Playroom
Halloween may be over but I wanted to be sure to share one last space with you on my fall home tour, the playroom! If you were following along this summer, I participated in the One Room Challenge to makeover my son’s playroom. This entire room came together in 8 weeks, and it was full of DIY projects and vintage finds. You can read more about the playroom makeover and any sources for the space here. Now that the holidays have arrived, I’m having SO much fun adding in seasonal decor. I’ve been collecting vintage decor for years, but I’ve linked several options below so you can recreate this look!
