Holiday Home Tour: Mudroom
Today I’m sharing my Christmas decor from my mudroom/laundry room this year. I have so much kitschy vintage Christmas decor I’ve collected over the years and this seemed like the perfect spot to display some of it. I love how the bright colors really pop against the black and white gingham wallpaper and black chalkboard wall. This space is really so cheerful and fun to walk into everyday and it makes doing laundry a little bit better too!
Holiday Home Tour 2018: Entryway
Today I’m sharing the next space up on my holiday home tour, my entryway. This space is always one of my favorite to decorate because of all the unique nooks and crannies and character of this space. I love to go for a winter wonderland look in here with tons of flocked trees, garlands, and wreaths and lots of white and neutrals. This year I added this giant chalkboard on the back wall with some lyrics from one of my favorite Christmas movies, White Christmas, which seemed fitting for the space. I also love the extra light and glow that these Christmas lights add to this back corner, which is normally kind of dark and bland. I’ve linked all my favorite decor items from this space below that you can use to recreate this look!
Holiday Home Tour 2018: Pantry
Today I’m sharing the next space up on my holiday home tour, my pantry! As usual the star of the show in here is the crimson tinsel tree and chandelier full of vintage ornaments. The deep color of this Christmas tree is so unique and I love the way the ornaments pop against it. This room is such a mix of rustic and glam so I love to play that up each year with the metallic ornaments, sparkly garlands, and plenty of gold! I don’t think I will ever get tired of this vintage chandelier full of vintage ornaments either! Most of these vintage ornaments were from my grandmother and I’m so happy to have them because they are each so unique, intricate, and beautiful.
Holiday Home Tour 2018: Living Room
’m kicking off this year’s holiday home tour with my favorite room of the house, my living room. Last year I started going with more neutrals and all-white for this space during the holidays and this year I continued with that theme. I also added in some more blush and pale pastels which I love. I usually do a real tree in here, but decided a flocked tree would fit even better with the overall colorscheme so I got this one from Wayfair (find more of my favorite flocked trees here). It is beautiful and great quality and a perfect size for this space. I also added a few new touches from Anthropologie like my faux fur tree skirt and mauve pom pom garland (shopping links below).
Fall Home Tour 2018: Halloween Mudroom
The amount of Halloween decor I’ve collected over the years is seriously getting out of control. Over the past several years, I’ve transitioned to doing more autumn and fall themed decor and less Halloween because it’s easy to fit in with my everyday decor and I can keep it up for a little longer after October is over if needed. I still LOVE breaking out a little bit of classic Halloween and/or spooky decor though and usually add it to just one or two spaces for late October in my house. For the last couple of years, I’ve added it to my existing porch decor for the last half of October and to greet trick or treaters (see last year’s Halloween porch here!). Last year I also did a haunted/spooky room in Alex’s office downstairs (you can find photos of that here).
Fall Home Tour 2018: Living Room
The next space up on my fall home tour is my living room! I have been steering more towards all neutrals and pale pastels in this room lately so I decided to keep that feel for fall instead of adding my usual pops of orange and browns. I used lots of layered velvet and knit pillows on the couch in all different shades of cream. blush, and magenta mixed in with my favorite gold leaf pillows from Homegoods. I layered up the mantle a bit more than I usually do for fall by adding some eucalyptus garland and then piled up some neutral pumpkins on the threshold too. I always add lots of pumpkins to my built-in shelves, all white and metallic this year, and also added a few vases with simple fall stems.
Fall Home Tour 2018: Kitchen
Today I’m sharing the next room up on my fall home tour, my kitchen! I love to decorate this space for any time of year because there’s so many different areas and elements to refresh: open shelving, fireplace, table settings, and more! I usually use a lot of bright colors in here normally but add an extra pop of orange in as well for fall. I love how it looks mixed with the greens, blues, and gold accents I usually have in this space. Some of my favorite elements of this room are the simplest decor items- like the blue vase on the kitchen table filled with a tall autumn leaf stem; or the fireplace filled with a combination of firewood, bright pumpkins and gourds, and modern brass candlesticks.
