I was more excited than usual to decorate our front porch this year because we just completed a much overdue renovation of the porch which now has all new supports, stairs, and lumber all around. We have not gotten to stain the wood yet, but who knows when we’ll have time to do that, so I just went ahead and started decking it out for fall! This is a project we had on our list since moving in, as many of the boards had major cracking or holes in them, but somehow or another it always got pushed to the side. Now it’s as good as new and completely structurally sound as well.Read More

Today I'm sharing my summer patio which I refreshed and redecorated just a little bit since last year. The biggest change out here was recovering the cushions on my furniture with this black and white striped fabric from Amazon. The cushions have springs on the inside and are flat on the bottom, so I was able to recover them easily with a staple gun, scissors, and no sewing. I shared a little more about my porch clean-up process and everything that I added/ changed here.Read More
I just completed my yearly patio cleanup and refresh for our side porch this past week. This year it seemed to be even dirtier and more full of leaves and debris than usual, so cleanup was not an easy task. In the process I updated my decor a bit because I like to add a few new things each year to make it feel new! This year I recovered my furniture cushions, added a new rug, as well as a few new pillows and accessories too. I still have a few more finishing touches to add but I wanted to go ahead and share my progress so far and some of my favorite patio pieces.Read More
I'm fully admitting to my tendency to sometimes overdo it with the holiday decor. Exhibit A would be my front porch this year which I ended up DOUBLE decorating for fall then Halloween. I shared my fall porch tour here on the blog a few weeks ago but once mid-October rolled around I decided to deck it out even more for Halloween. The good news was that I already had everything used thanks to my holiday decor hoarding tendencies. Many of these pieces are vintage that I have collected through the years and they're just too fun not to put out for the holiday! The finished product makes me smile and totally puts me in the Halloween spirit every time I see it. I just love the classic Halloween look with pops of black and orange and kitschy, vintage Halloween pieces mixed in. I had not used this batch of decor for a while and I'm really happy that I took the time to break it out this year. I'm super excited to sit out here and greet trick or treaters tomorrow evening! Happy Halloween!
Porches are my favorite part of seasonal decorating every year, especially in the fall! I love making the space extra cozy and adding lots of natural touches like pumpkins, gourds, foddershocks, and plants. This year I decided to go for a more neutral color palette on the porch. I chose lots of white, light green, and peachy toned pumpkins and all white mums. I used foddershocks again on the columns in front and lots of dried hydrangeas to fill in some of my planters. I love to use a mix of vintage baskets, wooden crates, and metal buckets for planters that have a little extra character. On the chairs, I added a mix of patterned pillows and a vintage brown plaid blanket. Many of my porch decorations are thrifted or vintage but I've linked lots of similar options below for you to shop! Happy Fall!

One of my favorite parts of our home continues to be the outdoor spaces. This little side porch is covered so it's completely protected from the elements and I can pretty much set it up and style it like an indoor space. Most of my furniture on the porch is vintage and/or thrifted so it's all a mix and match collection of different styles and materials. The overall vibe out here is rustic and boho chic with lots of layered textures and pops of green and gold. Find more details on our porch including before + after photos here.
My number one must-have for porch decor is lots and lots of plants! I have tropical plants, succulents, ferns and little trees all over the porch and I think they add so much color and warmth to the space. All of my plants are from Lowe's or Pemberton's greenhouses here in Lexington. I try to choose plants that are super easy to care for but all different shapes, sizes, and colors so that there's lots of variety!
Since many of the items on my porch are very old or thrifted, I've gathered up tons of picks below to help you achieve the same style and look in your own space. Some of my favorite pieces like my gold lanterns are still in store, but I've also linked very similar options to items that are no longer available in-stores like my round jute rug, succulent wreath, and pillows! Shop these + all my favorite picks for creating a cozy, neutral, boho-chic patio space below and as always if you have any questions about something I forgot to mention, just ask!
