Clean + Neutral Living Room Shelf Styling + Decor Refresh
I got to use all of my favorite shelf styling basics on this client’s living room shelves refresh last week! We added tons of visual interest to these entertainment center shelves with layers and stacking. I like to start with placing the larger objects and books that I can stack smaller trinkets + frames on or around. Once I have these balanced, I add depth by layering frames and other decor items in front of one another.
Fall Home Tour 2021: Warm + Cozy Autumn Living Room
Our living room is the next space on my fall home tour! I chose to update my fall decor this year by replacing some of the textiles and built-in accessories with items from The Amsden as well as a few other stores, and you can also shop all of these items below! This room is a prime example of how you don’t have to break the bank to incorporate seasonal decor in your home. A few new additions like swapping out vintage autumn landscape prints in my existing frames, swapping a couple of throw pillows for some warmer tones and textures, and adding some new mantle decor (just plain white mini pumpkins!) were all small and affordable changes that made it feel like I had a completely new, cozy fall space!
Cozy Bohemian Midcentury Living Room Project
Today I’m sharing this cozy midcentury boho living room that is one of my favorite designs I’ve done so far this year! I love all the muted, but fun colors in here, tons of texture, and mix of woods, metals, and fabrics. The mounted shelf is such a fun addition to this room and so perfect for filling a random, empty nook, and the styling options are endless (AND it’s super affordable)! We also added some personal touches throughout the space- for example, most of the artwork in the gallery wall was photography done by my client’s husband! Take a look at more photos of this space below and shop everything I used as well! If you have questions about anything not mentioned, feel free to ask in the comments below!
Fall Home Tour 2020: Cozy Neutral Boho Living Room
The next space up on my fall home tour is my living room! I have added a few updates to this space recently to make it even more cozy for fall- a new rug, new lamps, and some new pillows/throws (all linked below)! This is definitely my most overall neutral space in the house but I love how cozy and clean it feels and I especially like to mix in lots of different textures to this space (knits, tassels, fringe, faux fur, etc.).
Coffee Table Styling LIVE
Last week I went LIVE for the first time on my Instagram to share a quick and easy coffee table styling video! I also took some decorating questions from those following too. It was so much fun and I will definitely be doing it again soon. What other tutorials would you like to see? You can find the full replay of the live video below and most everything I used is available for purchase at Paxton Home (shop online here).
Bachelor Pad Living Room Project: Before + After
If you’ve been following along with my design projects, you know a good chunk of last year was taken up with my bachelor pad project. We started with a completely empty house (the client literally just had a mattress!) and we transformed it into the coolest and coziest bachelor pad around! The living room is the centerpiece of the home and probably my favorite space. We added some built-in shelving on each side of the fireplace that really pulled the whole room together (shelving was done by Miller Team Renovations). This client wanted a mix of modern and masculine for the space (leathers and neutrals) but also for everything to be comfortable and practical! I love how the space pulled together and think it will be stylish and functional for years to come. Check out some before and after photos as well as shopping links for the items we used below!
Holiday Home Tour 2019: Neutral White Christmas Living Room
The next space I’m sharing on my holiday home tour is the center of our home, the living room! This is always one of my favorite areas to decorate and the first space I tackle every year. I love mixing the neutrals and pale pastels in here and lots of textures in the pillows, stockings, tree skirt, and garlands! Especially for your living room, I recommend choosing Christmas decor that will coordinate with your existing decor/colorscheme. It may not end up being traditional Christmas colors, but it will be unique and make the entire space flow seamlessly!
Modern Farmhouse Living Room Design
It’s amazing how much impact your accessories have on the overall feel of a room. This project was a “decor refresh” where we kept all the main pieces but switched out small accessories/decor to completely transform the overall style of this living room. This client wanted to modernize their farmhouse living room and make it more clean and simple overall. They already had great, quality furniture pieces, so there was no need to replace any of those! We stripped down the space and updated small items like lamps, coffee table accessories, wall decor, and pillows! The end product is so classic but also modern and chic and will last this couple for years to come!
