We had the most magical evening at our Creative Collective mentor + mix event sharing all about "Business Basics." The Barn at Springhouse was the perfect venue for this event and I love how we were able to set up the small group sessions around palette tables throughout the barn and beautiful surrounding grounds. We had a lot of returning attendees from our first event and some new faces as well! Huge thanks to the venue and vendors, The Barn at Springhouse, Amendment 21 Event Bartending, Zachary Brady Designs, Kara Shepherd, Joe Dean Hinkle, and Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream! Be sure to scroll through all our photos from the event below (all photos by On a Whim Photography).Read More
I'm always so excited to try out new local businesses in the Lexington area, but especially when one of my dear friends is one of the owners! Lexington's newest must-visit spot is Varnish Nail Shoppe, an chic and high end all-natural nail salon. They truly nailed every detail in this shop from the minimal, midcentury decor to the well-curated array of products and services. The service is top-notch and you really feel pampered every step of the way! One of my favorite parts of my manicure is when they mixed up a custom sugar hand scrub with my favorite scents right in front of me. I also really loved the selection of stylish polish colors that they had available AND they specialize in doing some super chic nail art too!Read More

The Southland Association will host the first annual Southland Street Fair
May 9th, 2015 from 3pm-8pm
We will be closing off a section of Southland Drive from Southport Drive to Southview Drive and the event will use the parking lot and street for the event activities.
Festivities, local food and retail vendors, biking demonstrations, and live bluegrass music will be available in a blocked off section of Southland Drive and the adjacent parking lots. In conjunction with the festivities, we will have an official ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the Southland bike lanes, an infrastructure amenity that will continue to enhance the economic development for Lexington’s oldest retail corridor. Afterwards, community members will lead a ceremonial family bike ride on the new bike lanes.
We are so excited to participate in this event celebrating our neighborhood and one of Lexington's oldest business corridors. There are SO many wonderful local vendors for this event! You can check out the full list of Street Fair vendors here including some of our favorites: Street Scene Vintage, Fox House Vintage, Cooper Brother's Gourmet Meats, Dad's Favorites, and Gent's Ginger Ale!
