Minimal + Clean Midcentury Living Room Update

Who wouldn’t want to relax in this sleek and modern living room space? This room has just the right amount of texture, subtle pattern, mixed metals, and a little unexpected pop of color! It feels super cool and modern but also will be timeless and cozy for years to come. This is the third space I have done for this client so far- see her bedroom here and dining room here. Since she has a fairly open floorplan, I wanted to make sure all these spaces flowed together but still had their own unique feel.

A little trick I used in here was creating a focal wall decor piece by just hanging two matching mirrors side by side! I was planning on doing one large mirror but couldn’t find one big enough and within budget. I came across these geometric mirrors and thought they’d be perfect, but they were a little small on their own. So I decided to buy two and hang them side by side to create a custom look that perfectly fills the space as well! Adding the leaning blanket ladder on the right side also helps with that balance too so that giant wall doesn’t feel too empty, and it also adds some nice softness here.

One of my favorite elements we chose to incorporate are the two royal blue poufs. Integrating these two pieces created additional seating in the space that you can move around, while adding a nice pop of color to contrast the otherwise neutral color palette in here! It’s such a fun and unexpected touch but it totally works with the overall design of the room. I love them mixed with all the various neutral pillows- lots of black, white, tans, creams, subtle plaids and stripes!

You can shop all of the items we used, as well as some alternative options, linked below. You can also check out lots more photos of this space! Enjoy!

xoxo
