My Favorite White Paint Colors

Choosing the right paint colors for your home is always a challenge, especially when it comes to neutrals like white! There are so many options out there and it can be hard to decipher between creams, warm whites, cool whites, and true whites. What shades are best for cabinetry, trim, walls, and ceilings? I’ve rounded up my all-time favorites below and you can’t go wrong with any of these!

Alabaster- Sherwin Williams

I have used Alabaster in several rooms in my own home (most recently the playroom makeover including on the built-ins and shelving). It is the perfect soft white that looks good in a variety of different lighting schemes. This is my number one go-to white paint color.

Swiss Coffee- Benjamin Moore

Swiss Coffee is very similar to Alabaster and another favorite. If you’re looking for a white that’s warm and soft but also still bright and beautiful- this is it!

White Dove- Sherwin Williams

White Dove has been a favorite for years and is another warmer, softer white option. This one is just a touch lighter and brighter than Alabaster and Swiss Coffee, so it’s good all around option for a variety of spaces and also a great option for cabinetry!

Super White- Benjamin Moore

As its name infers, this is a good true bright white. I have used this in my kitchen, trim, and living room built-ins throughout my home. It is light and bright and doesn’t feel at all cold or stark in my home. Definitely try a swatch in your own home, as some lighting and other reflections can occasionally cause this to pull cooler.

Simply White- Benjamin Moore

Simply White is another great “true white” option that is just a touch warmer than super white, yet not as warm as Alabaster/ Swiss Coffee/ White Dove. This is also a great option for white cabinetry or furniture.

True White- Magnolia

Similar to super white, this is another great bright “true white” option. This is especially good for trim, ceilings, and cabinetry too if you want that clean, glossy bright white look.

Silos White- Magnolia

If you’re looking for a good beigey white that will warm up your spaces but still give you a bright, clean look- this is it! Beige has gotten a bad rap over the years since it’s popularity in the 90’s, but it’s coming back in a new, fresh way!

Decorator’s White- Benjamin Moore

If you’re looking for a cooler white, this is my number one option. As it’s name suggests, it is a tried and true selection of many decorator’s because it’s a true, bright, classic white. As with any of these colors, be sure to test a swatch in your home, as this one can pull green undertones if you have certain lighting or other color reflections from your decor.

Pure White- Sherwin Williams

Pure White is a great option that isn’t too stark but still has that “true white” feel. This is a great classic white for walls, trim, ceilings, or cabinetry throughout your home.
