Modern Eclectic Bungalow Bathroom Renovation: Before + After

Today I’m excited to share this modern, eclectic bathroom renovation I designed and completed for a client. The impact we were able to make on this relatively small space is pretty incredible. We had to basically reconfigure the entire space due to the location of the toilet being permanent and the client wanting a walk in shower instead of tub. Due to the slanted ceilings (this home is a bungalow so this upstairs has kind of an attic space feel), we had to get creative with the layout! We ended up using the slanted ceiling as part of the shower and putting the shower on the right side of the bathroom as soon as you walk in. We made the sink the first thing you see straight ahead from the door and then were also able to add a little storage nook in the corner too!

Miller Team Renovations completed the vision and all the fancy tile work including some a fun subway tile pattern in the shower! I was thrilled my client wanted to use this retro black and white tile and I love the way it looks paired with the simple subway tile. We wanted to add a little more character to the shower so we did the unique pattern with the tile and contrasting grout to match the floors.

One of the centerpieces of the project is the DIY dresser makeover that we used as the vanity. You aren’t going to believe the before picture (scroll down to see)! Painting it blue gives the entry a great pop of color, especially with the vintage rug compliments and helps anchor the room. We also switched out the knobs for some sleek and simple brass ones. We used acrylic and brass accents all throughout the bathroom to add a fun modern touch. We also threw in some matte black sink and shower fixtures to mix things up and tie together the floor and shower tile. I’ve linked many of the accessories we added below. Most of them are from Target and are super affordable! This client always has the best unique artwork collected for me to use, so most of that is one-of-a-kind. Altogether we were able to pull off a cheerful, modern bathroom with some fun eclectic touches!
