Lights, Camera, Amsden!

We are SO excited to announce that there will be a movie filming later this week inside the Amsden. The Stand In, a new romantic comedy, starring DREW BARRYMORE is going to be filming scenes around Versailles and at Wrigley Media in Lexington. Barrymore’s character in the moving owns a furniture shop and the mercantile space will be her shop in the movie! I seriously can’t believe that my little shop is going to be on the big screen and that Drew Barrymore will be inside it in just a few days!

The crew will be filming all around Versailles for scenes of the movie including private homes, farms, and some other businesses. I believe that they will be shooting outside the Ferrick Mason showroom directly across the street from us for the exterior shop scenes and all the interior shop scenes will be inside the mercantile. The mercantile will be closed from this Monday through Thursday (2/25-2/28) for filming. I believe they will begin the prep/ set up process on Monday and Tuesday and actual filming will be on Wednesday. The exciting part is that aside from Wednesday (2/27), the coffee shop will be able to remain open normal business hours during the filming process, so you can come grab coffee, star watch, and be right in the excitement as filming is happening. The other businesses at the Amsden (boubon bar, yoga studio, + photography studio) will also be open regular hours and will not be affected by the filming. Please be aware that Main Street might be shut down in parts temporarily during filming but you will still be able to park at any of the public lots around town and walk to us easily (we’ll be posting a parking map to help you with this too)! I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and I’m sure it will be a once in a lifetime experience! Please come hang out and join us next week!
