Our Fixer Upper: Nursery Design Inspo

via Lonny

Now that we know the gender of baby Riddle, I'm ready to start designing and decorating the nursery ASAP!  I've been working over the past month to get my former office cleared out which we will be using as the nursery since it's right next to our bedroom and super convenient from all parts of the house.  We will be moving my office to the bonus room space over our garage, so it will be bigger and more spacious (with room for a little play area for the baby too)!  The future nursery is one of those spaces of our house that I have done absolutely nothing to since moving in, so it's really a blank slate.  Take a look at some before photos of this room below:

My favorite part of this room has always been the unique barn-door style closets and the big floor to ceiling window.  Even though the room only has one window it still gets great light all day long.

I plan on using the right side closet all for clothing and hopefully the left side closet for books and toys so everything can be organized and contained.  I'm trying to figure out what to do with this awkward space between the closets though! Maybe built-in shelves, book ledges, or a built-in changing table/nook?

That big pile of stuff will be moving to my new office and I'm thinking of putting the crib on that wall.  These hardwood floors were painted before we moved in but they could definitely use a fresh coat of paint, as well as the ceilings and the rest of the room!

The twin mattress will also be going and I plan on doing a rocker/chair angled slightly in front of this window in the front left corner of the room.  This front door opens into our front staircase, while the second door in this room (see photo below) exits to our back hallway (right outside our master bedroom) and back staircase.

Here you can see a better view of the back wall where I'm planning to put the crib and the second door which opens to our back hallway/staircase.

I hope to put a dresser (with changing table on top) on this right hand wall seen above.  I will likely use the antlers somewhere in the room for decor too!  I'm so excited to get started on transforming this space.  Take a look at some of my favorite design inspirations for this room below and let me know what your favorites are!

xoxo
