Gathered Living Design: Living Spaces Projects
The living room is such an important space in any home! I love to create cozy and comfortable living spaces for all my clients - whether a family of four or a bachelor!
I have collected some of my favorite living room installs shared on the blog and listed them below! You can learn more about each project by clicking the buttons or photos below!
Clean + Cozy Basement Makeover
One of my favorite installs of 2020 was this cozy, light, and cozy basement makeover! This client had recently renovated their basement and basically just had a couch when I first showed up! We were able to pull the space together completely through a combination of e-design and in-person services, as well as decorating club! There are a few different areas of the basement- a seating area, kitchen/bar area, and an entry/landing area at the bottom of the stairs. There’s also a guest bedroom down here that we coordinated with the same look- check that out here!
Fall Home Tour 2020: Cozy Neutral Boho Living Room
The next space up on my fall home tour is my living room! I have added a few updates to this space recently to make it even more cozy for fall- a new rug, new lamps, and some new pillows/throws (all linked below)! This is definitely my most overall neutral space in the house but I love how cozy and clean it feels and I especially like to mix in lots of different textures to this space (knits, tassels, fringe, faux fur, etc.).
Holiday Home Tour 2019: Neutral White Christmas Living Room
The next space I’m sharing on my holiday home tour is the center of our home, the living room! This is always one of my favorite areas to decorate and the first space I tackle every year. I love mixing the neutrals and pale pastels in here and lots of textures in the pillows, stockings, tree skirt, and garlands! Especially for your living room, I recommend choosing Christmas decor that will coordinate with your existing decor/colorscheme. It may not end up being traditional Christmas colors, but it will be unique and make the entire space flow seamlessly!
Holiday Home Tour 2018: Living Room
’m kicking off this year’s holiday home tour with my favorite room of the house, my living room. Last year I started going with more neutrals and all-white for this space during the holidays and this year I continued with that theme. I also added in some more blush and pale pastels which I love. I usually do a real tree in here, but decided a flocked tree would fit even better with the overall colorscheme so I got this one from Wayfair (find more of my favorite flocked trees here). It is beautiful and great quality and a perfect size for this space. I also added a few new touches from Anthropologie like my faux fur tree skirt and mauve pom pom garland (shopping links below).
Fall Home Tour 2018: Living Room
The next space up on my fall home tour is my living room! I have been steering more towards all neutrals and pale pastels in this room lately so I decided to keep that feel for fall instead of adding my usual pops of orange and browns. I used lots of layered velvet and knit pillows on the couch in all different shades of cream. blush, and magenta mixed in with my favorite gold leaf pillows from Homegoods. I layered up the mantle a bit more than I usually do for fall by adding some eucalyptus garland and then piled up some neutral pumpkins on the threshold too. I always add lots of pumpkins to my built-in shelves, all white and metallic this year, and also added a few vases with simple fall stems.
5 Easy Ways to Update your Living Room for Spring
The time of year that is most challenging for me in decorating is definitely the January and February months. I've packed up all my holiday decor but it's still a little too early for full-blown spring colors and accessories. This year I was able to bridge the gap a little easier by incorporating some pale pastels and lots of layered neutral textures into my living room to bridge the gap between January and the beginning of spring. As spring as crept closer, I've continued updating and adding more spring touches and accessories throughout the space. I'm loving the feel of all the pale neutrals, layered textures, and pops of green- a little boho and a little farmhouse style overall. I also got a new coffee table which I'm loving as it totally has the perfect modern farmhouse look. Below I've listed a few easy eays to update your living room decor for spring while still keeping it super cozy! Take a look at how I gave my living room a little mini makeover to wake it up after the winter months!
