Primary Bathroom Makeover- One Room Challenge: Week 6- The Countertop of My Dreams!

Well the star of the show has arrived and the bathroom is finally starting to transform! Without a doubt, these new countertops have been what I was most excited for in this makeover and they did not disappoint! I can’t thank Counter Culture enough for making them happen so quickly and perfectly! Now it’s time for me to get the rest of the bathroom in order (as you can see from these photos with a million half-done projects everywhere, including the vanity base!).

For the countertop, I was able to find a perfect remnant to use at Counter Culture’s showroom! This is called an Amazon Green Marble and I just love that subtle green tone throughout- so rich and unique! I love marble with a lot of dramatic veining and ones that look very antique and old-world so this is everything I was hoping for!

We did a 12 inch backsplash (which is also quite dramatic and I love it!) with decorative scalloped edges at each end. I also chose to do the Cove edge around the countertop base and I think that really added a lot to the overall look- giving it that super traditional, antique feel!

Counter Culture made the entire process so easy and simple! I cannot say enough good things about the experience from start to finish. They are the most knowledgeable, answered all my questions, were more than willing to work with all my ideas, and communicated throughout the process. Also they showed up on time every time, followed through with scheduled plans, and had pretty much immediate availability for the install- which is so huge currently in any kind of renovation industry.

I really wanted to update all the faucets to brass to go with the new look and pop a little more! My new faucet and sink is courtesy of Wayfair and I am in love with the new look! I really like having the slightly smaller round bowl and the finish is much more shiny and easy to clean than our old sink, which was very matte. I think these are the perfect compliment to the new countertop. As I mentioned before, I really would’ve loved to have done a built-in sink, but it would’ve taken up all our drawer space, so I decided to stick with the vessel set up. I think it worked perfectly and we still have a ton of great counter space!

We have just two weeks to go and I’m going to have to kick it into high gear as usual! In the last two weeks I have quite a list to complete including wallpaper, finish painting, new light fixtures, new shower fixtures, accessorizing, finish painting and trimming out vanity base, new towel bars and hardware, new window treatment, and MORE! It’s all going to have to come together quickly but I’m confident with some late nights, I will make it happen!

Having the room be such a mess right now, makes me even more excited to show you the complete transformation that is about to happen! I can picture it all in my head even though it looks scary now! Stay tuned to see how it comes together AND I may have a little surprise up my sleeve too!

xoxo

Emily
