Primary Bathroom Makeover- One Room Challenge: Week 5- Paint Color Selections

This week was all about starting to paint and selecting paint colors for the walls, trim, and vanity! I wanted the perfect slightly moody mid-tone colors to coordinate with the feature wallpaper (still haven’t announced the winner and want to surprise you; thankfully all the finalists had the same color scheme- blues and greens!). Initially I was planning on painting all the trim, walls, ceiling one color, but I am kind of changing my mind now. The photo below is one of my main inspiration photos and I love the brightness. It kind of influenced me to keep the wall above the trim white for that same feel. I’m going to try it knowing I could always just go ahead and paint it all if I don’t like it! My main goal/focus is for this space to feel rich and luxurious so painting all the walls and ceiling might be necessary for that.

I settled on a very subtle/pale olive green for the trimwork, Gracious Gray by Valspar. It is actually one I was considering for my living room recently and I knew I wanted to use it somewhere else. Next, I had to choose the vanity color and I was torn between all different shades of slate blue- from mid-tone to dark, and I even considered a couple dark, moody greens too. I love the way these pair with the pale green! Below you can see some of my final choices and how the mix and match together! Which combo do you think I should pick?

I ended up trying “Blustery Sky” on the vanity, but am not sure I’m in love with it. Nothing else is painted yet, so I’m going to wait until it is to make my final decision, but I think I’ll end up going slightly darker here.

Next week is shaping up to be a big one with countertop install, glass install, and some plumbing installation too! This is where the magic is going to start happening! I am also going to try to finish painting the trim this week!

I have so much to do in the last few weeks and definitely will be racing to the finish line as usual!

xoxo
