ORC Pantry Makeover- Week 4: Sink Updates, Rearranging, + More!
I can’t believe we are officially halfway there in this year’s One Room Challenge! I am definitely feeling more behind than usual (which is saying A LOT) and it’s going to be a serious race to the finish line this year! Even though I do feel like I’m crawling along, we did accomplish a lot this week! The space is a MESS right now but for good reason- read along below for all the updates!
This week I ordered and received our sink and faucet for the back wall. I will be placing this at the end of the cabinets on the right side by the window (find more on my cabinet layout in last week’s post here). We found an antique brass faucet that has a classic look and has an extra lever for filtered/purified water which we wanted. We will be adding a tank underneath the faucet to accommodate this and are super excited to have a spot for fresh drinking water and filling up water bottles in here (one of our main goals in adding a sink here!).
I also ordered the sink which is brass and extra fancy! It even has a glass rinser which is something I’ve been wanting somewhere in my house and I think this is the perfect spot! They ran the plumbing for this today and surprisingly everything went very smoothly. I was shocked, but I guess those are the perks of completely replumbing an old house when you move in, we hopefully won’t have to worry about any plumbing issues for years to come!
We also took some time to completely clean out and purge the entire space- every cabinet, shelf, and corner! We got rid of some furniture, rearranged others, and I was able to purge about 4 boxes full of stuff from the space. To allow plenty of space for them to install/work on the cabinets, we moved these shelves away from the back wall for the time being. I wanted to still have them here until the cabinets are done so we don’t have to move everything off of them twice and can distribute it straight to the new cabinets!
Now it’s time for cabinets and then they can finish installing the sink once those are in! Lots more updates coming in the next couple of weeks when it all starts to come together- stay tuned!
xoxo
