My Favorite Green Paint Colors Used In My Home + Designs

One of my favorite colors for nearly any room is green! Green is definitely the color of the moment in all shades and colors - and I’m here for it! Painting your walls a soft olive/grey tone is a super easy way to update your space while keeping a generally very soft and overall neutral color scheme! Green also creates such a cozy and high-end feel in my opinion. If you’re scared to commit to a full room, I also really love painting wainscoting and trim shades of green - especially when matching it to wallpaper/murals!

Rare Gray - Sherwin Williams

Gracious Gray - Valspar

Billard Green - Sherwin Williams

Crownsville Gray - Benjamin Moore

Chatroom - Sherwin Williams

In my living room, I used Rare Gray (Sherwin Williams) for the entire room! The built-ins and time are in a semi-gloss finish, while the walls are in an eggshell. This is the perfect gray-green that is very subtle and looks amazing with a variety of other colors.

In my recent bathroom makeover, I wanted a soft green for the wainscoting that I added throughout the room, very similar to my living room paint color. This color is a bit more blue-green than gray, which I really like. I definitely pulled color inspiration from the mural I painted in this space and wanted it to coordinate well with blues as well. I would describe it as a very soft medium sage green. It would be perfect for a children’s bedroom, bathroom, or even kitchen cabinets!

For this client’s powder room makeover, she requested a moodier kelly green paint color, and I think Billiard Green is just that! It’s a few shades darker than a traditional kelly green but still has the classic and preppy feel. This is definitely the most dramatic of the greens in my round-up, but perfect for an office space, built-ins, or preppy powder room.

For this recent mudroom makeover, we were looking for a mid-tone olive green for all the board and batten paneling and shelving we added. This is a great olive shade that has gray and taupe undertones which makes it so elegant! If you’re looking for a classic and traditional olive- this is it!

In my powder room, I have the walls painted Chatroom. This can read green in some light and gray in other light, but I really love the dimension and softness of it! It’s a perfect paint color for “dipping your toes” into the green world without trying anything too dramatic! Definitely a more neutral and safe option as far as greens go!
