Moody + Cozy Bonus Room Makeover

This cozy bonus room is a multi-functional space that turned out even better than I had envisioned! This space offers a cozy media/lounge space, an office nook, and a dreamy bourbon bar!

My client was hesitant to go so dark, but it was such a statement and gave the moody/cozy vibes we were going for! We used the color Hale Navy (Benjamin Moore) on the walls and the ceiling (and even the paintable outlet covers because the white drove me crazy!). We swapped the curtains to a neutral shade and lifted them closer to the ceiling to help elevate the space. Next, we added cozy to the space by adding a large rug, leather accent chairs, side tables, lamps, and textiles! This space also doubles as a guest space, perfect for their teen daughter to have sleepovers and for when family stays over because this sectional actually has a queen-sized pull-out bed!

For the bar area, we bought a cabinet to fit the space and then added some floating shelves above to display all their bottles and barware! We had these shelves custom-made to fit this nook, and they turned out great! We added some sconces here for additional cozy lighting - and this is where I learned a valuable lesson β€” you should add the sconces AFTER the wallpaper! Although it made it a little more complicated, everything turned out great!

The office nook in front of the window has beautiful natural lighting! The custom map prints add some of the client’s personal touches to the space, which I always love to do!

Did you notice the tv? It’s pretty inconspicuous, which I love! Overall, this space offers something for every member of the family!

We also refreshed the bathroom up here, which you can check out by clicking here! If you want us to refresh or makeover your space, fill out the inquiry form by clicking here!
