Easy Kid’s Spring Lunch Ideas

I admittedly RARELY go this all out for my child’s lunch, but it is fun to every once in awhile! There are lots of fun ways to arrange food you probably already have in your house to create a Spring lunchbox or picnic for your little one (or yourself, no judgment!) This is also a great way to make healthy snacks more fun for picky eaters!

You can find all the ingredients and instructions below! Be sure to check out my other favorite Spring recipes by clicking here!

This is super flexible! Don’t feel like you have to go out and buy everything listed below, you can definitely make modifications so that you can use what you already have!

  • Broccoli

  • Cheese (I like Cheddar, but really whatever you have on hand! It’s best if you have both white and orange cheese!)

  • Cuties (or Oranges work, too!)

  • Green Grapes

  • Cherry Tomatoes

  • Blueberries

  • Strawberries

  • Celery

  • Baby Carrots

  • Cucumbers

  • Cream Cheese

  • Sandwich bread

  • Tortillas

  • Preferred Sandwich Toppings

  • Gummy Worms

  • Oreos

  • Chocolate Pudding

  • Iceberg Lettuce for Garnish

  • Sprinkles Eyes for Garnish

  • Layer your broccoli florets into one of the sections of the divider

  • Using a floral cookie cutter or by hand, cut the cheese to be a flower.

  • Layer over the broccoli!

  • Peel and separate a cutie or an orange

  • Arrange pieces into a floral pattern

  • Add a cut strawberry into the center to create a flower!

  • In a cupcake liner arrange grapes as the petals of a flower!

  • Next, add a blueberry for the center!

  • First, quarter a cucumber, then cut it into smaller stem like pieces

  • Arrange the cumber to create a stem and leaves of a flower

  • Using a flower cookie cutter, or by hand, cut the cheese to a flower pattern.

  • If you are using two different colored cheeses, you can create a center with the other cheese!

  • Using a butterfly sandwich cutter, or by hand, cut the bread into a butterfly. I find it easiest if you cut both pieces at the same time so they match!

  • Assemble your sandwich with desired toppings!

  • Cut some celery antennas and place them at the top!

  • Use a baby carrot for the body of the butterfly!

  • Add sprinkles for a pop of butterfly color!

  • Cut your tortilla and cheese with a cookie cutter, or by hand, into a flower shape.

  • Assemble!

Here are just a few ideas that I came up with! You can combine any of these together or switch ingredients out to your likening!

Option 1: Cream Cheese & Mini-Peppers

  • Cut celery sticks to size.

  • Fill the center with cream cheese.

  • Cut the tips of orange mini peppers! Line them down the center.

  • Add some small bits of cucumbers behind the “head”

  • Garnish with eye sprinkles!

Option 2: Strawberry

  • Cut celery stick to the size.

  • Fill the center with cream cheese.

  • Cut a strawberry into quarters vertically.

  • Arrange the strawberries to look like wings!

  • Add a couple of bits of cucumber (or celery) for antennas.

  • Garnish with eye sprinkles!

Option 3: Cucumber

  • Cut celery stick to the size.

  • Fill the center with cream cheese.

  • Add a blueberry for the caterpillar head.

  • Add sliced cucumbers vertically to the center.

  • Add bits of cucumber behind the caterpillar head.

  • Garnish with eye sprinkles!

Option 4: Blueberry

  • Cut celery stick to the size.

  • Fill the center with blueberries.

  • Add cherry tomato for the caterpillar head.

  • Garnish with eye sprinkles!

  • Using a small wooden toothpick or skewer, add green grapes through the center horizontally.

  • When you get to the end, add a cherry tomato for the caterpillar head!

  • Garnish with eye sprinkles!

  • Add some chocolate pudding to a small cup

  • Crush up Oreo’s and top pudding to create the “dirt” for the cup.

  • Garnish with gummy worms!
