Come Tour the HGTV Urban Oasis 2023 with Me Featuring LL Flooring!

This past weekend I had the unbelievable opportunity to get an in-person sneak peek at this year’s HGTV Urban Oasis® 2023 right down the road in Louisville, Kentucky, thanks to LL Flooring. I, along with three other designers, got a private tour with the designer and HGTV star, Brian Patrick Flynn. He walked us through every selection and detail throughout the home which was so informative and interesting and I gained so much insight and experience into the entire process!
Without a doubt, the star of this year’s HGTV Urban Oasis 2023 is the product provided by LL Flooring. From the living area, to the kitchen, to even the bathrooms! We were all extremely impressed with the floor quality, as well as the look throughout and loved being able to see all the details up close! LL Flooring is known as the leader in wood and wood-look flooring and provides so many options for all budgets and styles, all of which also stand up to the wear and tear of daily life.
The main living areas upstairs and downstairs all featured The Bellawood Vienna White Oak Engineered Hardwood Flooring, a wider plank flooring option with real wood veneer that is extremely resistant to stains, scuffs, and scratches! I especially liked the neutral tones of this flooring and how it picked up different colors in each space, but didn’t pull yellow or orange, which is so hard to find in a flooring! I also loved seeing all the wood grain and details of the flooring in person, as I’m super picky about the “faux-wood grain” look. This looked so true to real hardwood flooring!
Did you know that LL Flooring also has tile? The primary suite bathroom featured LL Flooring’s Regency Pearl Porcelain Tile. This was another great neutral, elegant, and low-maintenance option which are all key design elements Brian mentioned focusing on throughout the homes. This tile is completely waterproof and super tough, making it ideal for family homes and high-traffic areas, such as bathrooms. Every inch of this home was filled with character, color, and local details which I loved! The main floor consisted of an open-concept living room, dining area, and kitchen, which was incredibly light-filled and perfect for everyday family life or entertaining. There was also a main floor primary suite including double closets, water closet, large and spacious bathtub, double vanity, and walk-in shower! One of my favorite cute and unexpected details of the main floor was the hidden door in the kitchen cabinets that led to the powder room and back of the primary suite! This powder room had super fun elements, including a framed jacket (and matching wallpaper!) from Please and Thank You, a local favorite (with THE BEST chocolate chip cookies)!
My favorite room in the entire house was probably the primary suite! I just loved the mix of patterns and greens and all the cozy textures throughout this space, and LL Flooring’s Bellawood Hardwood Flooring provided the perfect base for the fun design elements. The contrast between the neutral tones of the flooring against the uniquely patterned ceiling design helped expand the space's visual appearance. I’m also a sucker for wallpaper on the ceiling, especially in plaid, so that was an instant bonus! This room was so spacious for the age of the home too and had all the amenities you could want in a primary suite.
As we ventured upstairs, there were so many multi-use elements and great entertaining space throughout. It was all very open, light-filled, colorful, and fun! I absolutely loved the unique little lounge/sitting area at the top of the stairs featuring reupholstered vintage chairs and a great gallery wall with so many locally sourced treasures. Possibly the best part of the entire upstairs is the added giant balcony area that is off of this landing space! It is HUGE and set up so perfect for any gathering or just for relaxing and enjoying on your own! The upstairs features three other bedrooms and one full bathroom too, each with their own unique color scheme and style! Tons of wallpaper, bright colors, and funky finds are featured throughout. I loved how the third bedroom was set up as more of a lounge space that could be used for so many different things - a playroom, extra guest space, movie room, game room, etc.!
No detail was overlooked in this home including the exterior spaces! All the landscaping was top-notch and the backyard featured so many great areas for entertaining. A large deck right off the kitchen offered a cozy and comfy firepit area with plenty of greenspace as well! Don’t forget the “porte-cochères” or “coach gateways,” on the side of the house which is not only convenient, but also a signature architectural element of many craftsman homes of this age!
Speaking of the architecture, this home is a classic craftsman and Brian was sure to really pay attention to all those details throughout from custom and classic craftsman built-ins in the living room, to replicating the stair railings to match the craftsman style pattern front railings of the home.
The location of this home is ideal: the heart of Germantown in Louisville surrounded by so many cute shops, restaurants, music venues, and more! It truly is the epitome of an Urban Oasis with all of the perks and convenience of big city living, while also being a super cozy and comfortable “oasis” of a home in such a vibrant area.
