My DIY Greenhouse

Well if you’ve been following for a while you know that last year for mother’s day, Alex bought me a cute little greenhouse. I have always dreamed of having a greenhouse so I was beyond thrilled. It came in a tiny box with a million pieces and took forever to put together! I loved it so much and featured it here.

Unfortunately, this past winter, we had a crazy series of wind gusts with a storm and my greenhouse got picked up and thrown across the yard, completely collapsing it. Most of the pieces were OK althought the entire thing was apart and would need to be reassembled AGAIN. So somewhere along the way, my husband decided since we were going to have to rebuild it, we might as well make it bigger and better (he majorly regrets that decision).

We set out with zero plans and really no serious building experience of any kind. Alex used all the remaining panels from the old greenhouse but built a new frame using reclaimed wood and extra lumber we had piled up. He made the entire greenhouse about 2 feet larger in each direction and much taller with a slanted roof (the roof was actually the easier part of the whole project!). We also added some old windows for the front and an old screen door that I had saved in our shed. Overall the entire thing kind of came together spontaneously as we progressed but the finished product is just what I wanted! It is far from perfectly finished but it is perfect for me!

We tried to set up cameras every time we worked to record the entire process. Check out the video below to see how it progressed from start to finish. I have also linked some of the fun things I added as decor for you to shop below! If you have questions about anything else- just ask!

xoxo
