Our Fixer Upper Fall Home Tour: Living Room
It's officially fall at our house and the weather outside finally feels like autumn too. After a busy summer of moving and finishing up our renovation, I could not wait to start decorating for the first holiday season in our new home! I may have started a little early (as soon as September 1st hit!), but I just love the extra coziness that fall decor adds to a home and I couldn't wait any longer. As always I collect things throughout the year for my seasonal decorations as I'm out thrifting and shopping for the store so that I can have a good amount of decor without spending a ton of money! I also can't help but grab a few things at Target every year because they have the cutest seasonal home decor (and always the best garland and wreaths!). Last year I gave a rundown of my entire seasonal decorating process with tips and tricks (including storage, shopping, and more) that you can check out here. The first room up on this year's fall home tour is the living room, which should always be the coziest and most comfortable room of the house! Our living room is a mixture of traditional and rustic elements with lots of texture and equestrian themed trinkets and pictures. I love that the neutral color scheme and overall style allows me to easily mix in my fall decor without having to change a thing! I always start by adding in a few pops of fall color: fall wreaths, knit pillows, some bright plants, and colorful gourds and pumpkins. But sometimes the most simple and natural decorations make the biggest impact, like my vases of wheat bundles on the mantle and the neutral pinecone garland. Whatever your decor style, I hope you can get some ideas about how to incorporate a little fall coziness into your own home. I've linked all my decorations and favorite items below for you to shop (have questions about something that's not linked- just ask!).
