Holiday Dining Room + Porch Decorating Project

Last week was full of holiday decorating appointments and I'm excited to share some peeks of a few of them this week!  This client wanted their front porch and dining nook decorated for the holidays.  She also wanted some new artwork or wall hanging for above the turquoise piece that was a little more holiday themed.  We decided to go for a large chalkboard, since she would be able to use it even after the holidays by just changing out the artwork!  I found the chalkboard at Hobby Lobby for 50% off (sales rotate at Hobby Lobby so these are usually on sale every other week).

I was able to duplicate artwork for the chalkboard from an inspiration picture that my client sent me (see below).  Most of the other accessories used were items that she already owned and leftovers from the rest of her Christmas decorating.  Thankfully all the items went together perfectly and I was able to pull together some cute vignettes with them.  The only things that I purchased to add was the fresh greenery, and glass cloche (which I added ornaments inside of).  She had lots of cute little jars and bottles which I made a little more festive just by adding a couple sprigs of greenery inside.  Since there's already some pops of color in this space, I loved having the mostly white + neutral Christmas decor in this area!

She also had some cute items to work with for the porch, including some wreaths, lanterns, and the "JOY" sign.  I thought the sign would be a cute pop of color on the door so I attached it to the wreath to hang from the bottom.  I also used another extra wreath she had and layered it on top of a fresh wreath to make it more substantial.  I added extra wide burlap ribbon to both of the wreaths to tie everything together.   We knew we wanted to use lots of lanterns and cluster them together.  I filled the largest lanterns with some shatter-proof ornaments and then used battery operated twinkle lights inside them too.  Above the door I hung a simple swag of fresh greenery and added a cute little banner garland on top from Target.  The finished look is super simple and cheerful and definitely matches the decor inside of the house too!  If you would like more information about our decorating services, it's not too late to add some festive touches to your home!  Fill out the form below to set up your own consultation!
