Holiday Story Hours 2023 at The Little House
Thanks to The Little House for sponsoring our holiday story time series!
This holiday season we are bringing you two very special holiday story hour opportunities at an adorable and charming venue right around the corner from the Amsden, The Little House! We will be able to fit three times as many participants as usual at this location allowing us to let everyone who wants to attend to participate! These special holiday story hours will be ticketed and there is a cost to attend, but rest assured we are going above and beyond with the decor, snacks, craft, and activity to make these are extra special and a memorable event! We also are using these seasonal story times as a way to raise money to fund and continue our free story times throughout the year! We hope to continue to do these every couple of months throughout the year for different holidays and seasons. Please note that tickets only need to be purchased for each child attending, not for adults! We ask that the adults attending be limited to one adult per family so that we can fit as many children as possible! If our first time slot sells out, we will open up an additional time slot on the same day so that everyone has an opportunity to attend! We are also excited to be partnering with our friend Mariah of That Party Girl Co. who will be helping us deck out the space with the most adorable backdrops, photo ops, and holiday installations!
Each purchase will include a voucher for one free drink at the Amsden! Visit us before or after the event to grab a holiday drink and do some shopping!
Attendance agreement + rules:
Please limit attendance to one adult/parent per family. You do not have to purchase tickets for babies as long as they are not participating in crafts, activites, or snacks, and are held or worn the entire time. In order to fit as many participating children as possible, we do not have space for strollers inside the event venue. If you are bringing a baby, we ask that you wear them in a carrier or or hold them throughout the event (unless you purchase a ticket for them). Crafts and snacks are available to children only. Parents are welcome to extras if there are leftovers after all children have been served. Please be respectful of the space, the decor, and the props so we can reuse for future story times. Please clean up your snack and craft and return items to designated areas after you are finished.

Date: 11/15/23 The Nutcracker Story Time
Time: 10AM-11:30AM (only a couple spots left!)

Tickets: $24.99 per child (tickets not required for adults but please limit attendees to one adult per family)
Join us for a sweet Nutcracker themed story time with Gathered Living, The Lexington Ballet, and That Party Girl Co.! Emily will read a kid-friendly book version of the Nutcracker and then we’ll have lots of Nutcracker themed treats and snacks, and paint and decorate our very own nutcracker to take home! We will also be joined by the cast of the Nutcracker from the Lexington Ballet who will be in costume, meeting and greeting with the children, and even teaching us some ballet steps from the Nutcracker!

Join us for a fun and festive Grinch storytime with Gathered Living and That Party Girl Co.! Emily will read the Dr. Seuss classic How The Grinch Stole Christmas, we’ll have lots of Grinch themed treats and snacks, and make a fun Grinch craft to take home! While you make your craft and enjoy your snacks, we’ll watch the classic 1966 cartoon version of The Grinch projected on the wall! We may even have a visit from a very special Grinchy guest! You don’t want to miss this festive, fun story time!

The Little House is an adorable little cottage right in downtown Versailles and just a few blocks from the Amsden. I knew this would be the perfect cozy location for our story times and provide us the perfect backdrop to maintain the charm but allow for more people to join us! The Little House is located at 247 Lexington St. right next to the Dollar General. There is plenty of parking around back and you can park behind the Dollar General as well. You can also use any street parking or other parking available throughout downtown.
