An Old-Fashioned Kentucky Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill

We made our first visit to Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill last weekend and I was truly blown away by this unique and special Christmas experience in the adorable town of Millersburg, Kentucky (just 30 minutes north of Lexington)! This entire experience is so well curated and every detail though out and coordinated. If you’re looking for a magical and simple old-fashioned Christmas experience- look no further than Christmas at Mustard Seed Hill! Whether you are looking for a great date night option, a full family outing, or a fun excursion for out of town visitors- this would be a great option for all of these!

Enjoy multiple different acitivites throughout the beautiful property including:

strolling through over 3 acres of stunning and magical light displays- these are unique and all shapes and sizes- unlike anything else in the area! This is all outdoors and easily walkable or kids of all ages and my little one loved the freedom to be able to run around and explore too!
check out the gingerbread house contest and exhibit inside the beautiful historic venue home which you can also walk through and see all the rooms decked out for Christmas. The decor throughout is stunning and definitely worth the trip just to see this portion!
enjoy and relax in the live music tent which is so beautifully decorated and full of delicious food, beverages, and treats too! Even though this is a tent, it feels and looks more like an an interior space! Inside they have both a hot chocolate bar and dessert station and then a sit-down eating area with a full appetizer and dinner menu as well. There are also cozy seating areas placed all throughout the space with sofas, ottomans, and chairs for groups to gather, eat, and listen to live music. The live music stage is positioned perfectly in the middle of the space and playing festive Christmas music throughout the evening.
Visit and shop at the amazing artisan’s market featuring the best local artists and vendors from the area. Our entire group bought something and we loved browsing all the unique finds!
Reserve your own private campfire area for your group complete with a basket full of hot dogs, buns, s’mores supplies, drinks, chips, and more! This area is so cute and cozy and has different little seating areas each around their own campfire all under and amongst the beautiful outdoor lights!
I also loved the beautiful large nativity display- so beautiful and unique- which also included a narration of the Christmas story which plays on a loop.
There was an adorable and delicious grilled cheese food truck when we were there too which we all enjoyed for dinner! I’m not sure if it’s always on-site but highly recommend if it is (they may rotate food trucks).
