Fun + Festive Kid's Holiday Snackboard

Today I am sharing a fun + festive holiday snack board for kids! This is full of cute + tasty little snacks + treats that your kids will love eating + making! I had so much fun putting one of these kid’s boards together for Halloween so I knew I had to do one for Christmas too! This is full of fun snacks that you can put together to surprise your kids or even let them help you make. All are very easy and only require a few steps and ingredients! I finished by filling the holes in my board with some treats from Trader Joe’s but that is totally optional! You could really use any holiday theme candy or desserts for that if you want! This can be easily customizable too if you don’t have some of the ingredients or want to leave a few items off- feel free to make it your own! You can find a full list of the ingredients I used and instructions for putting this together below!

I left some specific amounts unlisted because it really depends on how many you make of each item and how you assemble them. See the “instructions” portion to get a better idea on measurements/amounts. I basically got one package of everything and went from there!

4-6 slices of bread (your choice of variety)

peanut butter

jelly/jam (your choice of variety)

celery

candy eyeballs

red candy pieces (m+m’s or any red, round candy)

mini pretzels

1-2 pita slices

guacamole (packaged or homemade)

pretzel sticks

1 red bell pepper

2 varieties of cheese slices (your choice- I used swiss + cheddar)

Christmas cookie cutters (smaller work best)

string cheese sticks

sharpie or black paint pen

strawberries

green grapes

small marshmallows

1-2 bananas

Pillsbury holiday sugar cookies or any holiday cookies/candy or your choice!

optional filler:

Trader Joe’s white chocolate peppermint pretzel thins

Trader Joe’s mini gingerbread cookies

  1. While prepping the items below: Preheat oven + bake your cookies according to package instructions (if you are using cookies that need to be baked, you can also use pre-made cookies instead).

  2. For the mini PB+J’s: spread a thin layer of peanut butter on two slices of bread. Add a layer of jam/jelly on top of the peanut butter and place the two slices together, peanut butter sides in. Smoosh down your bread a little and use your cookie cutters to cut out a shape of your choice from the sandwich. I used small stars so I could get multiple shapes from each sandwich. Choose a thick/sturdy bread to get the best shapes! You can also cut the bread first before adding the peanut butter and jelly if you want a more precise shape.

  3. For the celery stick reindeer: cut the celery sticks into large 4-5 inch pieces. Spread a layer of peanut butter on top of each celery stick, filling the inside crevice. Add two mini pretzels at the top of each stick for the antlers (press into peanut butter to stick). Add two candy eyeballs below the pretzels and one red candy piece for the nose.

  4. For the pita Christmas trees: Cut pita into small triangles. Spread each triangle with a thin layer of guacamole. Dice red pepper and sprinkle onto guacamole on the pitas . Finish by carefully sticking a pretzel rod into the bottom of the pita/triangle.

  5. For the cheese: Use cookie cutters of your choice to carefully cut out shapes from your cheese slices.

  6. For the grinch santa hats: Cut the top off of several strawberries so there is a flat edge. Also slice a banana into thin slices. Insert a pretzel rod or toothpick into one green grape, then press one banana slice on top, then the cut strawberry on top of that (flat edge down), then add one little marshmallow on top of that. Note: I forgot the bananas on mine but they are supposed to go in between the grape + banana!

  7. For the snowman cheese sticks: Use a sharpie or paint pen to draw a snowman face/hat onto the top part of your cheese stick package. Be sure to choose cheese sticks with a plain clear package. Let them dry completely before touching or setting them on the board (sharpie and pen will smear easily until dry).

  8. To assemble- I started by placing my largest items first like the pita Christmas trees and celery stick reindeer. Since these are both similar colors, I placed them on opposite sides of the board. You can kind of pile the like items together, arranging them so they are all facing up and in similar directions. Next I added the cheese slices, again setting them in two different areas since they are very similar colors, using them to fill in between the celery sticks and pita. Next I added the snowman cheese sticks and Grinch hats on the opposite side in little piles. Finally I filled in all the holes/ empty spaces with the cookies and extras from Trader Joe’s!
