What To Look For:  EVERYTHING! Small furniture, vintage clothing, costume jewelry, garden items, vintage holiday decor.

My Favorite Find Ever: It's so hard to choose! I recently found the most gorgeous bright floral rug but I also love my primitive garden bench/table that I used as a television stand at our old house and now in our kitchen.  I've also found some of my favorite vintage Christmas ornaments and kitschy holiday decor items here too!

Location: 1317 W Main St, Lexington, KY 40511

OK, I may be a little biased on these first two picks but they are hands-down the best no matter who you ask.  For those of you who don't know, I've had a booth at Feather Your Nest for several years and I worked at Street Scene all through college and after.   I had some of my favorite vintage pieces EVER at Feather You Nest over the years including furniture, jewelry, housewares, knick-knacks, clothing, and accessories.  The prices are AMAZING and the owners truly price things to sell and not as collectibles like so many other antique places.  They really want their customers to enjoy and use the items they purchase here which I love.  There are tons of different booths all with their own style but by far my favorites are Ger's, one of the owners, who has several different booths sprinkled throughout the store.  She has a knack for choosing the best vintage knick knacks and furniture (especially amazing holiday decor!) as well as great planters and garden items too (and she also has the best prices around)!

What To Look For:  The best selection of vintage clothing and kitchenware!

My Favorite Find Ever: Once again it's so hard to choose, and 6+ years of an employee discount helped me bring home some amazing finds! I have a handful of perfect vintage 50's sundresses from here that I will keep forever.  I also found my favorite milkglass fruit charm bracelet here too.  Oh and I've gotten so many good vintage tablecloths- gorgeous florals and fun prints! I could go on and on!

Location:  2575 Regency Rd. Lexington KY 40503

I worked at Street Scene for 6 + years, so it holds a special place in my heart, but along with Feather Your Nest Antiques, it is undoubtedly the best place to shop vintage in Lexington!   Their inventory is constantly changing and the prices are extremely reasonable on everything from furniture to clothing to gift items and jewelry.  Probably at least half of my vintage wardrobe is from Street Scene and I definitely miss not getting to have first dibs on all the amazing items that come through the store everyday!  All of their vintage clothing is carefully curated and chosen, so it is all great quality but also fashionable and up-to-date with all the latest trends!  They also have the best selection of cute, retro kitchenware including tablecloths, canisters, salt and pepper shakers, and glassware!

What To Look For:  Any album you could ever want, perfectly worn-in band tees, and fun, retro vintage clothing!

My Favorite Find Ever: A perfect black + white eyelet 60's crop top and a vintage basket purse

Location:  1423 Leestown Rd B, Lexington, KY 40511

Pop's is a little hidden gem in Lexington that has been around since 1996!  They have the best selection of vintage albums around as well as old school game systems, record players, and sound equipment.  They also have a huge back room FULL of vintage clothing, costumes, band tees, jewelry, and accessories!  I have found some of my favorite vintage clothing pieces here and their prices can't be beat!

What To Look For:  Mid-century furniture, vintage rugs, industrial pieces, unique accessories and artwork

My Favorite Find Ever: My bright kitchen vintage runner rug

Location:  935 Liberty Rd, Lexington, KY 40505

If you're looking for furniture or vintage rugs, this is the place!  I'm not exaggerating when I say their inventory is ALWAYS changing, and they are constantly getting new items everyday (which they pride themselves on).  Things do sell fast here, so you do need to go quite often if you are looking for something specific.  They have the best selection of mid-century furniture , artwork, and accessories by far in Lexington, but also a great variety of industrial pieces and other vintage styles too.

What To Look For:  Furniture, home decor + housewares, vintage clothing + accessories, vintage albums + books

My Favorite Find Ever: A matching pair of leather + brass lamps that I use in my living room

Location: 1205, 4212 E New Circle Rd, Lexington, KY 40505

This place is HUGE and I rarely can get through the entire store in one trip.  It is set up inside a former furniture store and is comprised of 5 different sections/spaces that are all big enough to be their own store.  Prices are usually very reasonable and you literally never know what you will find.  Like most peddler malls/thrift stores, you do have to dig through a lot of crap to find the good stuff and it can be hit or miss.  If I'm looking for furniture, this is usually where I head in Lexington- just because the sheer size and variety of items guarantees you will find at least one thing!

What To Look For: HATS (vintage + new)! Vintage rugs, furniture, and home decor.

My Favorite Find Ever: A summer straw panama hat

Location: 901 Winchester Rd, Lexington, KY 40505

This is one of Lexington's newest vintage shops with such a great mix of curated items old + new.  They specialize in hats of all kinds but also have menswear, furniture, gift items, home decor, and a whole room of kitschy, vintage wares too.  Prices for furniture and newer items can be on the higher end but prices for vintage goods are usually very reasonable.

What To Look For:  Furniture, old doors, mantles, cabinets, and architectural pieces

My Favorite Find Ever: My kitchen table, kitchen island, + our counter-height rustic prep table in our pantry

Location:  451 Southland Drive Lexington, KY 40503

As you can tell by my list of favorite finds from here, I've basically furnished both of my houses from this place!  Lately I have been a little disappointed with some outlandish prices on furniture items, but I still continue to find great the occasional piece of furniture (although it's much fewer and far between than I used to).  You really have to hit this store often as the inventory is constantly changing and items sell FAST!  One other benefit of shopping here is that you have the option to return items for a full refund up to 30 days after purchase (which is unheard of at a thrift store especially with furniture).  You also have a full week to pick up furniture items after purchasing, so it's always better to quickly purchase items you might be unsure about before someone else snatches it up!

What To Look For:  Vintage clothing, purses, + shoes (be ready to dig though!); occasionally vintage housewares + furniture

My Favorite Find Ever: A vintage white wicker basket purse with fruit embellishments on top and red gingham lining!

Location:  2285 Versailles Rd. Lexington, KY, 40504 |  228 E New Cir Rd, Lexington, KY 40505

We are now blessed with two locations of the Salvation Army thrift store in Lexington and I frequent both of them often.  Visiting this thrift store is ALWAYS an experience and you never know what you are going to find, who you are going to meet, or what stories you may hear being told across the store!  Every Wednesday is half off day, where all clothing items (minus one specific tag color) are half off in the store.  The inventory is vast, so be ready to sort and dig through lots of crap, but I always leave finding something.  The prices can't be beat (especially on half off day) and I really think they get much more vintage stuff than a typical Goodwill (I've heard that Goodwill often trashes older/vintage items before they hit the floor anyways).  Besides clothing, I've also found some amazing purses and accessories, and even furniture and housewares too!

What To Look For:  The best farmhouse style home decor + furniture

My Favorite Find Ever:  A tall, red metal industrial shelving unit with barn wood shelves that I use in my pantry

Location:  Online as well as Local Pop-Ups + Markets

One Love Boutique is currently only online and popping up at local markets but they are constantly gettting new inventory and updating their social media with flash sales.  You can buy directly through their Instagram or Facebook, pay through Paypal, then pick up in Lexington.  They have some amazing primitive and industrial furniture pieces and great farmhouse/ fixer upper style home decor and accessories.  Their prices are very reasonable and items are priced to sell!

What To Look For:  Costume jewelry, vintage kitchenware, furniture

My Favorite Find Ever:  A vintage enamel cherry brooch.

Location:  1455 Leestown Rd, Lexington, KY 40511

This is one of Lexington's oldest antique malls and is pretty large in size.  They have some great cases of vintage costume jewelry where I have snagged some favorites before, but they also have a huge variety of other items ranging from primitives and antiques to vintage and midcentury.  Prices are fairly reasonable for most items but it can vary from booth to booth.
