Fixer Upper Friday: The School House

Since Season 4 has recently wrapped up, I'm excited to start sharing some Fixer Upper favorites from seasons past to tide us over until the next season!  Today's feature is one of my all-time favorites from Season 3: The School House (aka The Original "German Schmear" House).  I just loved every part of the design for this home and honestly I may end up featuring more than one room in this house because they are all just TOO good!  The unique "German Schmear" technique for white-washing and distressing the brick is still probably my favorite exterior update to date.  The giant antiqued mirror cabinet doors and waterfall marble island counter top in the kitchen also stand out as some of my favorite elements of this renovation.  See more before + after photos + get more details on this episode here.

Even though it was hard for me to pick just one room to feature today, the entryway in this home will always stand out as one of my favorite Fixer Upper spaces to date.  I loved the eclectic, modern, and European feel of the design and all the bold color choices for the trims + floors.  The entryway is so elegant and welcoming but also such a show-stopping entrance.  I especially loved the patterned black and white marble floor paired with the gray board-and-batten trim and glossy black doorway molding.   The details of this space really give it that chic European flair from the baluster style console table, to the empire chandelier + sconces, to the unique French style mirror and carved wall art.  I've linked similar lighting, furniture, and accessories to help you copy this look below!  What was your favorite part of "The School House" renovation and what space would you like to see featured next on our Fixer Upper Friday series?

xoxo

Emily
