Fixer Upper Friday: The Pocket Door House

all photos by Magnolia

Last week's "pocket door house" renovation was classic farmhouse style with a twist.  Unique touches like chevron-patterned sliding barn doors, pops of navy, and "skinny shiplap" gave this classic ranch home a modern but super cozy feel.  Once again, Chip and Joanna knocked it out of the park with both the exterior and interior renovation of this home!  To see some more before + after photos check out the full episode recap here.

My favorite area of the house was the living room with this amazing statement "skinny shiplap" wall + painted navy brick fireplace!  I love the modern slightly midcentury feel that the skinny shiplap gives to the space and I always love a pop of dark paint, especially on a fireplace!  Overall this room is super classic and comfortable and just feels perfect for a family.  I love the leather couches, textured pillows, and jute rug- all timeless staples that I have in my living room too.  I've hunted down similar furniture pieces, ceiling fans, + decor from this room for you to shop below:

This little fireplace nook is just so cozy + perfect!   I love the addition of the pillows to create a little extra seating on the fireplace ledge.  The floating wood shelves and sconces give the fireplace a built-in look and really anchor the space.   Accessories like the giant clock, old books, and some pops of greenery add dimension and just the right amount of color!  I've linked similar clocks, books, sconces, + more for you to shop below:

That gorgeous botanical print immediately caught my eye!  I love how the bold colors of that wall art pop against the neutrals of the space.  The coffee table styling is very simple but still feels chic and cozy.  Those chevron barn doors were another of my favorite elements on this house- so unique and different from anything Chip and Joanna had done before!  Shop similar botanical prints, accessories, + pillows below:
