Summer Uniform

No matter what trends may come and go each year I find my favorite summer outfits are always pretty simple and standard.  My "summer uniform" seems to always includes these staples:

1. A sweet and simple white blouse- whether you go more boho, minimal, or girly, I can never get enough crisp white summer blouses.  I also love those that have dainty little details like eyelet, fringe, cut-outs, or lace.

2. Vintage denim cut-offs-  these have been my go-to for years and my secret is that I make all my cut-off shorts from vintage jeans that I usually find at the thrift store!  If you want the true high-waist cut and perfect fit, this is the only way to go!  Here is one of my favorite tutorials for making your own cutoffs- just simply cut off at your desired length (slightly at an angle) and then throw them in the wash to get the frayed effect.

3. The most comfortable and versatile wedges I can find-  I have a serious wedge obsession and in the summer it is pretty much the only shoe I want to wear.  I'm always looking for wedges that are neutral, comfortable, and easy to dress up or down.  These beauties from TJMaxx are all three and more (and they also come in a great tan shade too)!

4. Turquoise accents: Turquoise is the perfect pop of color against that summer white.  I usually opt for some bangles but you can also try a statement ring, necklace, or earrings.

Year after year it seems I can't go wrong with this combination, and better yet, all these basics are also perfect for mixing and matching with other summer staples.  What pieces are part of your go-to summer uniform?
