Autumn at the Races

Every October my husband's company sponsors a day of racing at Keeneland and I look forward to planning the perfect fall outfit for this event every year!  This year my husband told me I absolutely did NOT need to buy a new outfit because I had too many clothes (classic husband line), so we compromised and I JUST got new shoes (negotiation win for me!).  I found it funny that the outfit I ended up choosing was comprised of pieces I have had in my closet for over 5 years!  These are some of my favorite fall vintage pieces that I seem to wear at least a couple of times every year since I first got them in college.  This handmade crochet sweater has the BEST silhouette with a little peplum and gathered bell sleeves.  I don't think I will ever get tired of this piece which is one of the many reasons I love shopping and wearing vintage.  The leaf print mini skirt is an old Target/Tracy Feith collaboration from many years ago (back when Target collabs were out of control amazing)  and if you didn't see the tag you would swear it was vintage.  The print, fit, and material is all completely vintage-inspired which I love and I wish I had rolls and rolls of this amazing fall printed fabric it's made of!  I found several sizes of this beauty available on Ebay (thank God for Ebay!) if you are interested in snagging one.  I layered this look up with another fall staple that I'm loving, the fringed wrap.  I found this one at Walmart, yes Walmart, and it was under $15 (it is more expensive for some reason online so check your local store)!  It is so lightweight but super soft and I can't stop wearing it with everything.  Finally, I finished off the look with my new boots, which also happen to be super vintage-inspired.  These over-the-knee boots by Lucky Brand are so comfortable and have a super boho 70's feel (they were also 40% off when I bought them thanks to Macy's constant sales)!  Turns out I didn't need a new outfit after all (but the boots definitely helped!)
