Weekend Wardrobe: All Tied Up

When I'm dying to try out a new trend, I always head to one place: Forever 21.  I may be a few years past 21,  but I still love to shop here and the prices just can't be beat.  They always have all of the latest trends in plenty of different styles to choose from.  Some of my all-time favorite pieces have come from here, and I continue to wear them year after year.   It is a great place to shop for both basics (like blazers, cardigans, solid skirts, tees and camis) and also more unique and fun pieces that you don't want to spend a ton of money on.  I have been looking everywhere for a button-down denim skirt and a top with lace-up detail, and I was able to find both for under $20 each!

Be sure to remember the following tips when shopping at Forever 21 when you aren't a tween: 1. Always try on a few sizes and usually grab a size up from what you normally wear.  Things tend to run very small (and tight) and I tend to like a looser fit in most of my clothes (I often grab a large in tops here).  Dresses and skirts will fit more true to size but the sizing can vary so much from piece to piece that it's always best to try on multiple sizes.  2.  TRY ON everything!  Since they have a very strict return policy (no returns, only exchanges), you always want to try on every piece!  I tend to find that sometimes things fit surprisingly well and sometimes they are just plain horrible looking!  It is just very difficult to eyeball it and not worth taking the chance.  3.  Be careful when washing your clothes after purchase.  Like I said, these items tend to run small and I have MAJORLY shrunk them in the dryer several times to the point that I couldn't wear them anymore.  When washing any of my items from Forever21, I try to air-dry or line-dry now because they do shrink so easily.  Keep these tips in mind and you are sure to find some great pieces at amazing prices that can't be beat!

xoxo
